Ok guys , bin looking at heaps of stuff last few months in terms of monster trucks and fnally decided on the EMaxx .
Anyway , i got it and its grouse , have had heaps of fun with it today and its definately power a plenty .
2 issues though , 1 is battery life which is non existant with only about 3 minutes max run time and the other is the diffs .
Issue 1 isnt a prob as ill get some nice JUICY NiMh packs and probalby jump to 8.4V per pack but just wondering bout the diffs as my issue is that id just like to lock them .
Anyone done it before , what would you use , i was thinking just to clog it up with cardboard or something as i dont want to put glue or anything fixed in there incase i want to take it out eventually .
Also , any links to good forums on these , love to do some reading up when i get some time .
Thanx guys , ill post some pix after

Locking diffs.... blue tac, hot glue, paper... anything, just stuff it in there.
But a better idea (money pit here you come :D)

And look at all that other bling you can get :P
Mmmmmmmmmm brushless, lipo, carbon fibre, alloy. mmmm

I wonder if you could use realy thick Nitro diff oil,or even that stuff thats like play dough made too do the same thing.
Neither of them should copleatly lock the diff to my understanding, but should get more of a LSD action.

I wouldnt even consider locking the diffs unless you get a set of CVD's, we chewed through a few rear axles when the rear was locked. Like Stoney said try the heavy weight diff lube first. Since doing this ourselves we havent had any more issues with the axles.
I dont know why mike has this fixation with the Emaxx's being money pits, other than locking the rear diff and breaking a couple axles ours has been a great basher for the past 3 or 4 years. The only money spent on it has been because we've wanted to.

I don't think the emaxxs are money pits as cars, I just think with RB infactuations with buying things he will have a very pimp emaxx.
I wanted me awhile back but couldn't afford to get one.

i think thats what hes on about on the money pit side nuts , the addiction to bling it and let me tell ya , i cant get over the price of bling parts , $300 just for a chassis rail , $300 for titanium arms and it goes on ... lol

Sorry mIKe-, I thought you were saying it like they were unreliable money pits.
RB you could have had one of Maxed out's pimped up rollers for $1200 last night. Alloy everything including rims and that sexy HPI Quad body with the flames.

YOu don't need two motors.
The single brushless is way overkill lol.
Read the forums at the link I sent in a few posts ago, alot about very bling brushless maxx's in there.

Steer clear of the trassux forum IMO.
They are pretty much retarded. The mods think their shit dont stink and make sure everyone knows it.

Hahaha the mods can be a pain. But the people posting there can be really knowledgeable. Also it never hurts to jus go and look at all their rides and get ideas for your own.

Welcome to the dark side RB
1) Stick with the standard 6 cell packs you can get plenty of run time if your packs are in good condition..
2) Move your esc to the front of the truck & move your RX to the rear & cut of all the excess wire ,you will get rid of over a foot of cable, & you may have to trim of the tags on the esc to fit it in to the chassis,& get rid of all the tamiya plugs ,direct connect from the esc to the motors.
3) Locking the diffs is a bad move as is the optional spool you can purchase as a hop up, the front diff fill with tamiya anti wear grease & the rear fill with a Ptfe grease ,this will alow the truck to pull you through a turn
4) dont go with a BL set up until you have spent a pile of bucks on the transmition & drive train
btw ; i have the best idler gears money can buy if you wont a set & yes they are pricey
