Those of you with Iwavers and Mini Zs ...What sort of material do you use for tracks and barriers.

I have used sheets of 1200x 600 x 6mm MDF and then coated them with "Chalkboard paint" which gives it a nice colour and provides much better grip due to it's gritty nature.

AS for barriers I used to use "laminate edging" when I set up similar tracks but with the speed of the stock iwavers it's not sturdy enough.

Ive checked other forums and suggestions of very low pile carpet for tracks and PVC pipe for barriers.

Wondering what other people in AUS used.

I am going to have to get a few more sheets of MDF as the iwaver is damn fast for indoor use.

Other suggestions for edging are ( Have any of you used these - comments please

Garden hose
Rope
foam rolled strips

I made one out of garden hose on concrete, but the cars just re-arranged it or jumped over it.

I have seem pictures of a PVC tube track that could be dissambled and taken to the local netball court. That is a cheap way of doing it and you can change the circuit design too.

Unless you have access to a huge indoor area you are best off finding a large smooth concrete area and brooming it off. My cars are at a speed now that anything less than 6x4 meters would be very limiting.

Half a netball/basketball court is a good size

OK..heres my track Mk1

About 10 sheets of 1200x600 x 6 mm MDF
Poly tube for the barriers ( $6 for 25 metres ).

The Poly tube is a bit of a problem as its a bit low and the car can ride up over it if going too fast
