Cheers mate, yeh she aprox quater scale,er semi scale that is! But very nice all the same.
The REAL Harmon Rocket lll , was/is (Not sure!) a sport class reno racer.
they are a modified RV-4 300+ Hp lycoming engine capable of 256 MPH.

This one has my now very run-in OS 46 sitting preety inside the cowle.

Im a bit dissapointed it rained like hell yesterday,I wanted one last thrash of the avistar befor being retired.
Not to be.

Roll on sunday! Dont know if I can wait that long now!

taxied up an down the street tonight to make sure the tank dont leak or foam up the fuel, all seems good there.
Geez I love the engine INSIDE the cowl, and strange enough the idol seems to be smoother and can go lower with the motor mounted sideways. Might just be the cool night air though.

Doin an upgrad to the HR3 tonight,Gunna set me new Tx to lower the ailerons when I flip the flap swithch.Plus now shes all set for duel rate, and Expo. WOOOT,love this new 6 chanel.
Bit bummed theres no duel rate or expo on the rudder but its a bloody big bound forward over the old Sky sport 4. :)

She's a COUGH JR COUGH,LOL its just like buying a ford for a holden driver.

Yeh a JR XP 652. With a SPCM reciver. So that means Ive got fail safe settings for glitching as well.

Took me a couple of ours to sort the flaps last night but at least Im learning about it.Just have to fly it and fine tune all the settings,at the moment I dont have any flap/elevator mixing coz Im unsure how much pich up Ill get.And just set the flaperons at 50% coz this is all new to me.Really need the flaps on the HR3,even with a head wind I find myself over shooting the runway.

Well I put her up four times this arvo,JR equiped now.
Had the expo at 50% but tonight Ive changed it to 40%.
Ill test it tomorra,it just felt mushey around center stick, just as its suposed to.
Flaps, well it was lucky I left the flap elevator offset trim turned off coz with the flaperons lowered at 50% she actually pitched nose down! so Ive set that at 20% and will give it another go.I must say but,I was very suprised how much she slowed down in the blustery conditions this arvo, hope and prey for a calm morning to really set her all up.

Oh yeh, bunged a 11.5"x6" Bolly prop on tonight as well! :p

Mate Ill be flying at the Foothills MAC in the morning before the weather goes to shit. Our club is on water works road just off armadale road in forestdale.Dunno about the arvo, the council actually has a 4.00 pm cut off time for flying at our field.
Ifn ya keen for a fly after 4 just give me a ring a couple of hours beforhand. That goes for you other fellas too,it might be the best oportunity to fly for a couple of weeks.

Just about to head down to the local park for a little practise. If the plane is still in one peice I might join ya's this arvo.

Sorted out the speed problem with the SS too, I hadnt set the esc for max throttle.

Yep,it did need a bit more power.I was thinking about the stick the other day and I recon once the control throw gets shortened, you could take some of that lead off the front to bring the cg back closer to were its suposed to be.

So how'd it go anyway ?

My day was full on,man the wind, far out it was howling most of the day,and the whole time I was at the field.Strait across the strip! But that never stoped me befor.I had six flights with two dead sticks from lack of fire liquid in the tank, and bugger me both of them happened when I was too low to do a go around and set up,and I was too fast to land on the patch. Both times I over shot the strip and ended up in the sand bowl.Wheels down luckly and never dug the nose in.Ive put my luck down to a couple of things, firstly a strong wind that allowed a slower ground speed, and I flaired hard at the end and stuck that tail wheel down, bent it actually but it'll straiten, and all the flamin rain weve had has made the sand nice and firm.
At the end of the day Ive almost got the elevator/flap sorted, and it works a treat by the way.the expo I nocked back to 30% and Im cumfteble with it now.
All in all a good day.

Great day for flying yesterday, almost dead calm at times. I was the only one at the field for the first two hours so I got a fair bit of radio tuning done, and also racked up a heap of landings.
Only one little misshap,I droped a wing tip on one landing and she did a little cartwheel. All it did damage wise was crack one one the wheel spats a little more,it was cracked from last weeks excursion into the obiss off the end of the patch. And it also cracked a glue joint on the wing bolt retainer.
Flippen lucky coz most cartwheels end up with smashed tail surfaces.I kept flying but after a bit of on the spot repairing.Used over a liter of fuel today, which is a fair bit of air time with a OS 46.
