Weak Darren, weak. Didn't even get to see it race at West Coast on Saturday. Was it too hot for you? !gay
Anyway he did ok in the first 3 races just taking it easy, because you could hear his non hardened pinion being ground down by the steel spur.
4th race the screw holding the steering tie rod on fell out after 2 laps.
Last race he decided to drive it harder and just hope the pinion lasted...it did. He got in front in the first half of the race, and for the last 5 or 6 laps he had around 4 seconds lead on me (I was second) he wasn't getting away from me, but I wasn't really catching up either. I think there will be some competitive racing in monster truck class in the next few months. We should have 5-8 brushless truggies by then.
When are you getting yours Darren :) Then you can see if you can beat my 28.7 sec lap.

I think the fastest time I saw on the sheets was Nathan's 27.008 with an average of just under 28. Volka with his new plettenburg maximum in his Kyosho ST-R beat my time in the next race with a 28.4.
So your getting the ST-RR as well are you? One of the good things about those is it comes with big bore shocks as standard.

WAORMA & WCMRC both recognise the monster truck “class” not buy scale but more importantly by its size as it is in any other class, When 4wd , truck ,2wd race at the states interclub and alike all vehicle must pass through a “size box” in order to find out weather that car meets the requirements of the rules , MT also have a size limit & there is a box for these trucks also , So from where I stand if you can pass a truck, 2wd ,4wd through its box that makes it legal.
I’m not sure if any of you remember Jerry Low with his home made shaft driven 4wd these were the days before your BJ4’s,Tamiya’s ect , that caused an upset with in the RC community as this buggy fitted through the box as was therefore deemed legal , Now as Jerry built this buggy at home it did not come in a box with 1/10 scale written on it so …….well the rest is history anyway.

It may be of legal size if it passes through the box, but that doesnt mean the wheels, batteries, and motors are legal.
We asked last week and every MT driver had Lipo's, despite them being clearly illegal by the rules. And how many of them are running 2 pole brushless motors?
And the first page of the MT rules clearly say "1/10th scale". Slapping a 1/10 truck body on a 1/8 buggy doesnt make it an MT.

So its now not a matter of being 1/8 or 1/10 scale as you say if it passes through the box ??
Lipos are not illegal to run @ WC
Tires are the same size
Brushless motors are also allowed @ WC
How can a 1/10 scale body posiblly fit a 1/8 scale
And there will be no slapping in the MT class

This has all been discussed with the MT drivers who attended the AGM today, and they are aware of the situation as it stands.

OK, i think this is how it went:
Monster trucks are considered a support class at AARCMCC events because AARCMCC has no rules for them. Hence at AARCMCC sanctioned events, any rules/restrictions are at the discretion of the host club. Hence at the AARCMCC states at Rypers, Dave said you guys could run pretty much anything.
At WAORMA events, (such as interclubs etc) all current WAORMA MT rules apply. This doesn't just mean physical dimensions, but tyres, wheels, motors and batteries as well, as specified.
The rules do specify that a vehicle should be 1/10th scale, but the issue of converted 1/8ths which fit the dimensions has yet to be resolved.
However it was pointed out that the definition of a Monster Truck, is that it's centre transmission should be above the diffs, which is a specification that converted buggies and truggies do not meet.
This also is yet to be resolved.
The MT guys did present a new set of rules to govern vehicle specs, however as an AGM can only be used to vote on changes presented at a previous meeting, and none had previously been presented, then they were put on hold.
Running of 1/8th vehicles, and MT's that do not meet WAORMA rules, at a regular club meet, is at the discretion of the host club. Hence the Carine club allowing them. The West Coast committee will be discussing these rules at their next committee meeting, and no decision has been formally made. It is expected that WC will follow the WAORMA rules with regards to MT's.
Did i miss anything out?

Id like to thank the committee for handling the issue with the MT class in a diplomatic fashion
BB i think KB is talking about a WAORMA sanctioned events WHERE YOUR CAR WOULD BE LEGAL
What would the drivers/members of WC like to see the MT class do in order to make it a safer class
Yes i think i have a buyer for your maxx , can you please post some pics
