Hi Guys

The guy next door brought a small electric trainer. Problem is it doesn't have enough power to fly even when fully charged. This is a RTF kit from the LHS :?

I had a quick look and it is using an 8.4v 600mAh NiCD pack which weighs a ton.

I have heap of Li-Ion 600mAh batteries lying around. If I made a pack out of 3 (10.8v), would that be asking for trouble?

Any other alternatives to pick up the power? Even throwing the plane into the sky makes no difference.

7.4V lipo you can get cheap these days Azza , id go 1 of them as they have plenty more punch than a nicad plus it will be allot lighter so you can position it more foward to get the balance right and it will be sweet ( if the fuselage allows ) .

What plane is it , you might get away with a: yor 10.8pack or b: even an 11.1V but this all depends on the electronics in it .
