The WA Onroad Report #1, January 2008
Hi all, welcome to the WAOR. I’m hoping this will take off, and keep all of us in the WA Onroad racing community, Electric and Nitro, informed with results, events and other happenings.
Ryper:
A quiet return to racing today (6/1) at Ryper, two classes running: TC 540 and TC Stock.
540 had three drivers running, Peter N, Matt K and Steven N. Matt K TQ'ed, but Peter N eventually took out the win in the final.
Stock was brimful of talent, six of Perth's best stock drivers, and one washed-out hack of a modified driver, whose name escapes me for the moment. Rob Mould TQ'ed, then left shortly afterwards, his job done.
Final positions after 3 finals were:
1st: Ben "Mod Hack" Kirkwood.
2nd: Mick "My friends got jobs miles away from me" Kinnon.
3rd: Kevin "Dan hasn't got a funny name for me" Duffy.
4th: Alfred "I like close racing" Leung.
5th: Dan” Stop laughing!” Kearney
6th: Adrian "Kidneys" Folgliani.
7th; Rob "I TQ'ed so nyahhh" Mould.
Much fun was had, especially in the A3 for Stock, where much shenanigans occurred. All the 540 guys improved over the course of the day, which was great to see. The next meeting is slated to be the 20th of January.
PRECC:
PRECC hasn’t returned yet from it’s Christmas break. According to their website, www.precc.org.au , they have a track maintenance day on the Sunday the 13th of January, 8am to 4pm, and a return to racing on Tuesday the 15th of January. Many hands make light work, so if you’re a PRECC member, head on down on the Sunday and help push a vacuum cleaner about!
Bayswater Nitro:
Due to noise complaints from a new resident in the area, Bayswater is now closed to Nitro racing. Rumour has it that the club is looking for a new venue, and hopefully I can bring some better news next month about the club’s future.
There is talk of an electric meeting at the Moojebing track, but it’s in the very early stages of planning. I’ll bring you more news as it happens.
Bunbury:
I have absolutely no idea what’s going on south of the Dawesville Cut, so if anyone from Bunbury wants to let everyone know what’s happening with your calendar and any special events, feel free to PM me and I’ll get it in the next edition.
Edit, with thanks to Rowen Delahunty
Bunbury has just had there yearly AGM and the following have been noimated for committee
