Hmm, looks like it might actually be quite good.

And to top it off, they're based in perth!

What sort of cost is involved ?

The stuff itself wont cost us too much, but because the clay is packed, we'll need a wetting agent to help it penetrate, thats whats gonna cost us.

Guys this sounds like a great product but does the product contain Calcium chloride ?

Calcium chloride will eat your electronics

As far as i know, any wetting agent will do.

I dont think it has any calcium cloride, apparently its some sort of extract made from the left overs of the paper making process.

well that means if everyone brings down a bottle of dish washing liquid we should be right as dish washing liquid is a wetting agent

It sounds like it could be just what the doctor ordered. Be good to get a cost per sq metre for the stuff and the wetting agent.

how long does the wetting agent last?

days, weeks, months?

KingBob
19-01-2008, 09:35 PM
Few hours is all it needs, as long as it gets the dustex to penetrate.

so this additive would need to be applied to the _entire_ track before every race meet because it will only last for a few hours?

KingBob

No, the additive will last months, if not years.

You asked how long the wetting agent will last.

It's all reasonably well explained in the company website. Dustex has been used to stabilise gravel roads, mining site hard-pans etc so I think it should last pretty well with some RC cars driving on it. Sounds like it increases grip as well!
