The WA Onroad Report #
3/1/08
Hello, and welcome to the WAOR for this fortnight. A lot to get through, so we’ll get started with the results from PRECC.
PRECC:
Two weeks of racing makes for a lot of results!
22/01/08.
Having gotten a Tuesday night off, I got down to a race meeting at Maylands for the first time in a while. Things have changed around, race control is no longer down the back of the hall, and the track layout has been reversed, so the straight is now moved to the far side of the track from the driver’s stand. This makes the technical section of the track easier to see.

Ryper:
Another lovely day in Perth, if you love 35 degree temperatures, greeted racers at Ryper today. With the State Titles coming, a larger list of drivers took advantage of the chance to get in some racing, as well as dial in their cars. We also got to see Off Road legend Josh Pain turn some laps with Dave Simms in a no-hold, modified death match.

Bunbury:
From what a few guys who made the trip south, and talk in the Bunbury thread, it looks like the meet on the 27th of January was a great day. The club president, Rowen, has told me that once he gets the results sorted, he’ll forward them on. So while you’re waiting for those, make sure you get ready for the next club points day, which is on the Sunday the 10th of February.
Events:
8th and 9th of March: WA ISTC State On road championships.
The control tyre has been decided, it will be Much More 32, on Take Off rims. Cost will be $45, and you can get those from Ryper Hobbies when you enter.
The cost for entry for the States has been kept to $40. Entry forms will be available from Monday the 4th of February, call Ryper Hobbies on 94941822 for more details.

Here’s some video from the guys at RC TV, a British show which airs on a cable TV network in Europe. It has some footage from the IIC in Las Vegas, USA, as well as the 1/5th scale World’s event held in Brisbane late last year. Well worth the watch, the 1/5ths make the track look very small compared running a 1/10th electric at Brendale!
Thanks for reading, look forward to the next update in a fortnights time!
