Tracked (if you can say that) but not registered as the items sent via Express Post can be and almost always are delivered by your normal every day posty. So you only really have the word of the posty that it got to the people you were/are sending it to.
The items can however be tracked from post office to post office and post office to posty but since they are not signed for they can not be tracked to the door of the receiver.

if something is coming express i always get it sent to my post box, then u can be sure no contractor get their hands on it, that's when things go missing. and it can be tracked.
as soon as a contractor gets it then aust post know its a lottery as to you getting it. one of my ole ladys friend s got busted cause anything she ran out of time to deliver she took home and then tried to deliver it later, she had two rooms of crap stacked to the roof that wasn't delivered. and the contractor that used to deliver to our work got busted for taking shit as well. he also had a house fulll of crap, but he would take it home first sort thru it find good stuff then deliver the stuff he didn't want.

Ok , now that its sorted and over ill explain the story .
I spent a few Hundred $ on HDMI cable for my projector and in the check out , they gave me the option of $8 postage regular + $3.40 compusary for insurance ( same state ) or $9 express postage and i had to pay the $3.40 on topof that as well .
Anyway , i queried the insurance on the express and got a reply saying i had to pay but either way it was lttle money to pay compared to the cable so i didnt care untill ......
I pay them and i receive a confirmation email saying buy off our website and well give you free postage .... this pissed me off and being a wog and on principle i wasnt going to take it so made a fuss about it .
I get a reply email saying sorrybut cant help you but on your next purchase order off us direct and you can get the free postage to which i was even more pissed as i spent over $500 allready on all the cables i needed so needed nothing else so i kindly told them that if they can prove to e they sent me my item Express post and were able to insure it , i wuld have no issues and drop it but if they couldnt prove insure it , i didnt care how but i want my $3.40 back .
Toda i get a call from the ownr and i cant tell you how nice the people were , they totally appologised , were soooo polite and just great , thy offered me my full postage refund and told me theyd give me 10% off on my next order for the inconvenience .
They were so nice i told them to not worry about the refund of anything and seeing they went out of their way to call me personally i respect it totally ( i gave them my number ready for a slaying match ) .
but anyway now that its sorted thats the story

$500 for an HDMI cable? Is your projector in the next suburb from the rest of your gear? Did they tell you it was "even better than Monster Cables" or something? OUCH!

lol , nah , the HDMI was a 10 meter 24G only cost me $180 but i bought other leads as well .
Projector is old school crazy , its a CRT G70 but ill give it till the next generation of 1080p digitals come out and i will uprgade as mine holds up comfortably against todays 1080p digitals but i reckon next generation ones will be right .
Ahhh the monster cable

Still very pricey for a bit of wire, is it Kordz? They seem to be around that price range.
If anyone else reading this wants something a bit more "budget" minded but rated well. Try this guy from the DTVforums: http://www.hdmioz.com/ Good prices on the short ones. The guys username is foxtail and there is about 70 pages of feedback from people. Certainly worth considering.
I've only got a 50" 720p set and component out of the HD Tuner does the job considering I barely watch anything on Free-To-Air anyway. And even then I usually record it on an SD PVR.
Enjoy you setup anyhow.

THe Kordz i think is under $100 , good cable to but i went this 1 :

It was actually 22AWG so pretty beefy and probably overkill on a 10 meter run but i remember paying that for a 1.8 meter a while back when HDMI came out so theive definately gotten llot cheaper ... lol .
What plasma you got cray

Not plasma, Samsung DLP Rear Pro. Got it 2.5 years ago for $2300, which was a freakin bargain since the original RRP was $3999 but the new models [still 720p not the 1080p at the time] where coming out so they had to clear it. Plus back then a 50" plasma would have set you back somewhere between $5-7000.
I'm bloody happy with it. DLP never really took off in this country despite being HUGE in the states. Value for money wise they just can't be beat. And the PQ is amazing, as anyone with a DLP projector would attest. Same Texas Instruments guts inside the things.
Wouldn't mind one of the newer ones with LED light system instead of the bulb. Having said that, I'm still on my original bulb and it gets pretty heavy use each day. But certainly something to factor in to the original price. By the time I finish with my second bulb I'll probably want to upgrade to 60-70" Plasma as prices are always dropping. But for now, this thing rocks!
Home cinema won't be on the cards until I get my own house. Wanna do it proper so rental properties are a no go. My inlaws have an awesome setup with a dedicated room, leather recliners, bigass sound system and running a Benq 720p DLP. Another great value piece of kit from a few years back. Looks stunning at around 3 meters projected. Only upscaled DVD content as we where waiting for the blu/HD thing to sort it self out first.
There's always something better out there, but I'm not made of money so finding bang for your buck is always my aim which is why I research my purchases so much. Extremely happy with the results.

Yep , totally understand on the keeping up with it all .Im assuming the benq they got is the 7700 , id consider it the best 720p in the under 5K range and no rainbow on it at all ( sure its running 6 wheel ) .
A i said , im still with the G70 CRT and running it at full 1080P out of bluray and its perfect , ive had it on side by side comps with the new Benq and Mitsu and resolution is not pickable but colour on the CRT is always allot more natural .
Im waiting for the next Generation of 1080p digitals and am open to the DLP as they are allot punchier and dont green tinge as LCD panels do after about 3000 hours so next years the big upgrade year .
Plasma we bought a 60inch LG which is pretty base brand but i bought a coloromiter and callibrated gammas , grey scales and went deep into the service menu even to align the pixel clock and its come up noticably different . Even the misses sees the difference , unforunately its no 1080p because you know how it works , you wait wait wait then buy and a new model comes out within a month theive been hiding .
