We plan on having our first club event in quite a while this Sunday. (Courtesy of assistance from West Coast - thanks guys). Would like to make this a regular (around monthly) fixture and see Carine filling the void from autumn to spring as the track handles the wet weather really well.

Plan on running a limited number of classes depending on demand. Mod and stock truck and monster classes most likely but may consider other classes if there is sufficient interest. Would like to keep it simple to start with so we can ease into running an event on our own.

Details:
Gates open 9am
Nominations close 10am
Racing underway asap after that
$5/class members, $10 non-members
Drinks for sale, no food at this stage
As per usual bring your own pit tables etc

It's our first club meet so don't really want to commit to finish times. Start time will depend on numbers that need to be set up on computer etc so a 1 finish might be pushing it.

We will be borrowing WC's transponders this time but would like to phase this out as this is alot of $ worth of gear we are babysitting. We propose to move to purely personal transponders. We will purchase a few personal transponders to use as club transponders and hire these out on the day @ $10.00 for those without personals.

I've had a few enquiries about which classes will be running. This will be entirely dependent on who shows (as it would be at Baysie) so it might be useful to get an idea of numbers definately coming. Either post here or email me at totalvet@iinet.net.au.

i think you should rephrase that nice to have some other people in the race, compeition and other people in the race are to different things

The turnout, given the gloomy outlook this morning, was thin but we had a great morning racing with a short sprinkle at 9.30am giving us perfect track conditions. After that it was fine - even saw a bit of sunshine - till we packed up around 1.30pm. Once I sorted out a glitch in the computer we were able to get on with business. Thanks to those who turned up (and were patient till the timing system was sorted) and we look forward to running another event soon. It was a relaxing morning's racing - much better than sleeping in! We ran Alycat in practice mode after racing finished which was a great way to try different approaches around the track and hear your lap times on the fly.

Keep in mind that Carine is an awesome winter track. It was bone dry this morning and a shower just made it better. Might be a good way to keep your batteries fresh and your driving skills sharp over the winter months.

(Thanks also to those volunteer marshalls that made today's racing possible).

Rostrum looks good too.

I think some promo work should be done for the next race day. A suggestion is to give 2+ weeks notice.

Matt.

Yeah the more regular the events are, the more people will turn up.

I'm sure you boys can get Carine back to the numbers it had during it's glory days. Just gonna take a bit of hard work :)

I am looking forward to coming to some of the future events Paul...always liked the drainage at Carine and it really is the perfect track to keep things like batteries and minds in tune.
Glad you have got it happening, even if I couldn't get there today.

I know it's a "chicken and the egg" thing. My wife thinks I'm crazy working all weekend to organise a race for 5 people but i think it's worth sticking with to see if interest builds. The people will come if they know it's a good event and it's run regularly so it can get a following. It would also be worth running when Ryper and Bunbury aren't on in future. Nights aren't an option so Sundays are where we'll have to stay. It might be worth focusing on running different types of events in the future to make it interesting?

I'll come out again the gloomy weather in the early morning kept most away i guess, it was raining on my side of town but i thought it could be ok up that way, so i ventured out anyways,

i liked the layout and once i got the hang of it i was really having fun without wreaking, and the burms were cool to rail around.

Paul, keep at it, and the 5 will turn into 10. Then the 10 will turn into 15. You'll have a nice 2 or 4 wheel class, a truck class, and hopefully a monster truck class.

Then, more will come and you'll have 20 people.

And on it will go.

If you can keep the goal in mind, and keep at it, it will happen.

Use Team Adrenaline as much as needed to promote the events you're running at Carine.

Thanks for the advice. I'll definately keep at it to see how it pans out. The hardest bit is finding time around all the other commitments.
