Ok , you need to update your DVD player bro .

Problem with older DVD players is their output is only about half of the resolution of a high def 1080 line LCD / Plasma .

WHat you need is a DVD player with HDMI that upscales a standard DVD to 1080i or 1080p . YOud find them for under $200 and this will improve the pix noticably .

Just also wondering how your hooking your DVD player into it , is it composite ( 1 yellow wire for video ) or are you using Component ( red , green and blue ) .If your still on the old 1 yellow wire system then change it immediately , picture will be terrible .

As far as digital TV goes , your LCD should have a buit in tuner in it and if its a 1080 panel id assume its a HIgh Def tuner . If this is the case , no antenna adjustent is going to make a difference as its digital so will either work or not and an external box isnt going to make a difference . If it only has a standard def tuner built in , go a high def set top box . If your not sure if its HIgh Def or Standard def tuner , go to channel 1 which is chanel 10 high definition and if it works its high def built in , if it says cannot display or not authorised or something along those lines , you only got a SD tuner built in

Whats the model number

Bro , their not true high def , their only 768 resolution not true high def .

Case of false advertising in a way .

They also do have a high def tuner built in so if you do an auto search on channels it will find all the sd and digital stations .

Ch 7 = 70 ( high def)
Ch 9 = 90 ( high def )
Ch 10 = 1. ( high def )

JB special or Strathfield Special ?

is your dvd player a recorder , just trying to work it out as normal DVD players dont have antenna leads on them ( unless were talking an ANCIENT 8 - 9 year old 1 but then i still dont think they had them ) .

If youve got a video lying around somewhere , try hooking that from the wall , into the video into the lcd , videos have AGC ( gain control or signal booster ) so might be a case of bad antenna cause as i said , with digital you either get a picture or you dont .

Sorry dingo if my posts are a bit hard to follow but well work it out mate .

hard without seeing it but from what your explaining you need a new antenna .

Put the booster onto it and give it a go if it improves you can confirm an antenna fault ( possible splitter fault if one is good and the other room isnt )

Hey dingo , just a quick thought , go through your LCDs menu and check in the antenna settings to see if the actual TV has a built in booster , half of them do

Normal TV is analogue so even if the signals at 20% youll get a 20% weak signal coming through , with digital , you really need over 60% to get a constant holding signal and as with digital , your picture will either be perfect or no picture at all .

Mate , its only a 32 inch so take it next door or to a mates place and hook it up
