What i love about AVG is that it silently runs in the background and pops its head up when it finds a thread . Norton on the other hand pops up every frikkin time you open something to ask you if you want to allow it

well.... actually....
it can.
matter of fact, Apple computers even way back in the early naughtys have always been able to run PC software. Whether its by installing a hardware addon / or a software emulator such as Virtual PC and most recently Bootcamp or Parallels.
Macs have always been able to operate on both sides on the coin.. and hell of a lot more productive.
so... which would you prefer out of the two:
1. a machine that can run any operating system and lets the user choose between the two with ease.
2. an OS that attracks attacks by viruses or hacked by uber geeks who think life is full of 0's and 1's just so to prove a point and oil the gigantic machine of antivirus manufacturers.
i know which one I'd go for ;)

avg as others had said.
if macs were popular the script kiddies would make viruses for them too, and you only have to google apple and virus to see how mac users are living in a dream world if they think they are virus free.
never said virus free... just not as much and as constant as PC viruses...
anyway, i dont want to use a tool just because its popular... I just want to use the right tools ;)
and by tool i mean design / graphics.
admittedly, if i was a programmer / analysts and all other deskjob jocks, id be using pc's for sure. !devil

Emlyn, Google pop up stopper works well.
The best tool for stopping pop ups is to get rid of Internet Explorer.

You cant. It's embedded into Windows XP. Why do you want to remove it?
