Fact No 2. - Rob has lost all grasp on reality. !fruit
Do we have an ETA as to when the tyres will be decided? cos you know... we are mid June now and the states in October.... gotta make sure the shops and retailers get enough time to order stock in.. save for stockpile.. etc etc etc yada yada yada. will the club be seling tyres as well?
follow on post:
This year, we will see for the first time brushless and brushed motors used at the same time in the Stock class. (AARCMCC will see brushless 17.5 legal for stock after July))
Should be interesting to see which will prevail ;)
u gonna run brushless shadow? ;)
BTW , how much difference iis there between the 17.5 and a good stock like a br00d?
[ Edited Wed Jun 11 2008, 03:59PM ]
is there any way of cheking the brushless motors for any tampering?

Dan,
im testing a LRP 17.5 sintered with my new 4wd at the moment... but personally I still feel a lot more comfortable with my brushed stockers.
Will hopefully be able to do some back to back testing between my brushed stockers and the brushless LRP.
see how they go.

any news on what tires are controled if any, for this years off road states 08 ,
mk,
From memory, the controlled tyre has to be announced 3 months before the event. Is this correct?
golumn
23-07-2008, 11:16 AM
correct matthew, but alais as the club has to send the information to AARCMCC to be approved before they can release the information.
But as mongrel has posted, Holeshot???

Documentation nominating control tyres was supplied to AARMCC 8 weeks ago they should have responded no later than last week so they have been sent a reminder, hopefully we can have some news for every body shortly.
On that note West Coast has made arrangements for a one off bulk purchase of tyres for this event which will be offered to racers at a substancial discount to current local prices.
The club will be open for practise the required two days prior to racing as well all are welcome to our regular Friday night meets which should be recommencing late August / early September. It is also proposed to open the club up for day time practice on at least one Sunday prior to the event

matt, if you go back to the events page there is a thread with all WAORMA Race Dates
October 17th to 20th.
Thanks.
What are the odds of me placing in top 5 :D now i have a T4?
Should place a bid on me like a TAB bet lol.
Emlyn

very little.
James>Emlyn  such a gimp.
No James Cunniffe, Emlyn is right.
Just because you have a T4 wont promise you a place. It depends on your driving, your truck setup, how much practice you have had.
When West Coast Model Rally Club re-opens, try to get as much track time under your belt as you can.
Lol, $50 says i make top 5. :D
Are you a noob racer matt? sound like it hey :p

Once there are a whole heap of good drivers that are determined to win, it's all about luck and fatal mistakes that can allow you to win or lose. One night at west coast there were like 6 good 2wd mod drivers and we were determined to win and little silly mistakes cost you the win. It is also how you can handle the pressure of a guy trying to catch your tale. You are determined to win james and I can quarntee you that there are lots of good drivers thinking the same as you are.

I was hoping your come back, you'd have seen your destructive ways but clearly you just don't give a rats.

Great racing seen today in the 2WD classes.
For my mind, best Drive/performance of the Day goes to Josh Morley in Stock Truck...Great effort in his first State Titles to take out 3rd with great etiquette and poise.
Well done.
Hats off to all the racers on the day because the spirit of the racing was good for most of the day.

A great day with some big air and happy campers (mostly).
Could be interesting if it's another 6 or 7 degree warmer tomorrow.

A good day i think, ran quite smoothly.
Still amuses me when some drivers get upset when they flip their cars and it takes a marshal longer than 0.34 seconds to flip it back!

It did yesterday Mark.
I wish I had done the qualifying with the setup that I had for the finals...I didn't think I was lacking for anything around the track thru the finals other than a scrap of luck and a better qualifying spot to start the finals from.
Dan Temple was on fire tho...almost unbeatable this season.

19-10-2008, 08:46 PM
Yup, another good day.
As race director it was interesting to note that many of the 'junior' members, and those who aren't in the upper echelon of skill, actually had better race etiquette/manners/general behaviour than many of the 'pro' drivers.
Well done.

What are the odds of me placing in top 5 :D now i have a T4?
Should place a bid on me like a TAB bet lol.
How did the T4 go mate? I'm sure that bet will pay off one day...but rather than thinking that the rest of us are all muppets, give us some credit...if it was as easy as all that we would all be able to run with Josh(et al) and be in with a shot at Truck Open State Titles.
I really find it insulting that you think you can just come in from flying planes and take a top 5 spot in a major event.
...and I want to ask you, "How do you feel, about being so cocky, now that you have seen how fast one of the top drivers in the country can get a Truck around your home track?"(<-----serious question)
The results for the states (day 1 and 2) are on the west coast model rally club web site here (down the bottom next to State Titles :http://www.westcoastmodelrallyclub.asn.au/Raceresults.html
