I agree, its too big to be a phone. Sorry.

it may be too big for a phone, but i reckon it will be harder to lose this phone when comparing to the other mini wonders out there.

No suit or handbag needed. but hey, its better than carrying a backpack with your reading novel, newspaper, mp3 player, pda, phone, portable dvd player, a psp and bunch of game carts.

Dont forget your packed lunch boys ;)

its not really that big, my itouch is just as easy to loose as my phone and i'd be more than happy with its size as a phone.
as soon as i can get one on another network i'll get one. and i know they are unlocked, but i want it free so a contract for me.

The 8Gb version is meant to be about $220, and the 16Gb version around $330 based on the US prices.

And they will be available on prepay as well so no contracts.

No doubt they'll get priced up to say $399 and $499 here, all Mobile Phones do when compared to US prices.

I'm happy with my old Nokia, a yr old and I still don't use half the shit on there, Wifi, pfft Camera, ha! even the 1gb card in there, I don't think it's even half full!

FAIL

nah mate " OWND "

And yes i do use video allot , probably 30% of the time .

In all seriousness though , i had an iphone about 6 months ago that i got from the states and i thought they 100% would have fixed the video call feature on the new model to actually have it .

Ohh well , and i say this in all honesty , its a frikking grouse entertainment system though

optus 3g network is pretty craptacular as well.
$849, do these idiots not know that people can use the internet and see what ppl in the states are paying.

remotebandit
04-07-2008, 01:13 PM
All that aside though obz , $850 for a 16 gig phone , media center bla bla bla , its actually an awesome prce compared to other phones .

An N95 is up over the $1000 mark , those HTC pdas are around the price of the iphone so personally anything under 1G i reckon they did allright but not the phone for me , had it and its all suited for an office worker definately not for the tradie

My brother in law is interested in 1 and asked me today if they work with the blackberry system .

I dont know how blackberry wirks or who its through but can he transfer his sim to this iphone and use it as he did before to get emails etc directly in real time or is blackberry a stand alone system with their own phones being the only ones that work

they seem to break easy had to people break them by dropping them

remotebandit
18-07-2008, 09:54 PM
yes allot more delicate than a normal phone but all i can say is that if i was an office worker id still have 1 but on the building site ... need i say more .

For anyone that does have 1 of these phones or an ipod touch , go to itunes , store , applications , games and then search texas hold'em .

It costs about $8 but its bloody sensational as you have real recorded actors your playing against with expressions . they are not cartoon charecters and it feels like you are playing them in DVD like video quality so it gives another dimension to playing on a console .

I bought it , installed it and am hooked on it and let me tell ya , their are a few honeys you can play against as well .

ive heard that you cant send mms/pxt msgs on it? or so vodafone says. is this true?

remotebandit
20-07-2008, 11:32 PM
No it wont do MMS .

You have to add an aftermarket program called swirly mms but this often doesnt work either and there is NO SUPPORT from your provider to help .

Incredible that the phone comes with so many GREAT features and i genuinly mean that but when it comes down to the simple things you want it for ( being a phone and mms features ) that even the cheapest mobiles on the market out do it .

Anyway , mms swirl :

who MMS any way????? and if so then what????

remotebandit
21-07-2008, 12:21 AM
lmao , im POSITIVE your being sarcastic there Kai ... i hope and if your not you do have to accept that there are pros and cons for EVERY SINGLE ITEM on the market .

MMS is flat stick in our group of friends , we send stupid ring tones , pix in general and more importantly Porn Vids .

Youve got to have MMS running mate so you cant say " so what " but i seriously thought they would have fixed that on this new model over my old 1 ... lol

Either way , it will have to be a simple fix on a software update as there will be MANY people that wernt aware of it when buying so i wouldnt be worried too much ATM as their complaints depo will be flat out passing the message on to Jobsi

yeah, but bluetooth and wifi dont work when the ppl are separated by miles.

i rarely use mms, so for me its not a biggy, but i know ppl who use it like crazy.
