I know no ones really too interested in this and if it wasnt for all the questions i wouldnt bother posting a thread on it but anyway , heres a bit of a run down .
Stoy goes that i went to cah converters about a week ago and they had 3 new ones in there .
1 was a 600Watter and 2 x 200 Watters . My plan was to buy the 600 Watter at $1200 and raised the funds selling a bit of stuff no probs but it wasnt till i looked into the whole legal thing over the week that i worked out that if i bought the 600 Watter i was going to be stuck with not being allowed to use it on the streets just like i got stuck with my monekey bike .
Anyway , the 600 Watter had a top speed of 45kph ( speedo and confirmed with my GPS ) and the 200 Watter hits 35kph ( speedo and confirmed with GPS ) .
The 600Watter did have more power only noticable up hill but apart from that launch was about the same .
After all the investigating , by Victotian law , i am allowed to ride the 200 Watter anywhere and with the same rules as a normal pedal bike with no hassles from anyone so i ended up going the 200 watter .
Below are some pix . Its full size and ive towed my daughter on the back with no issues apart from the fact we dont go faster than what its governed to .
Anyway , it will make the perfect runaround for going to the shops or to the PO Box or just a general run around the blocks as ive worked out my current 4wd costs me $1.85 to go 7km so that means im saving myself about $3 everytime i go to the post office alone .
As i said , its nothing special , ive got no real use for it but just something i wanted i guess and the fact its legal on the streets is a bonus .

Dash , ill work out an ipod docking station in there somewhere ... hehe .
Im not sure what the A/C is though so if anyone knows what it means please let me know and for the smart asses out there its not aircon .
On another note , we have a steep hill near our joint , if im on a flat road , the bike hits 35kph , if i go down this hill , its stays on 35kph so this somehow governs speed as well ( im assuming some type of back emf from the brushless motor to charge that batteries ???

MASSIVE room under the seat , if anyones familiar with a 5 liter jerry can it fits in there no probs with the seat down , that spot is where the helmet sits in and i only found that out after i bought another helmet from cashies ( they gave it to me half price if i bought the bike ) and when i got home and lifter the seat found a factroy 1 in there .

what a weapon, that would be cool for scooting around as you said , shops, postoffice and so on. how long does the battery last.

in the manual it says it comes with 4 x 12V 12ah batteries and goes 40ks no pedal assist , i opened the compartment and found a x 12V 20ah packs in there so id say about 60ks unnasisted .
Even 40ks though aint bad considering if youve got to travel more than that on a trip your be taking the car anyway .

Vamps ... yes im going to pull it apart tomorrow and check it out but im looking for the magnetic sensor on the wheel / motor and trie to trick the onboard computer into thinking its not going anywhere hence wont apply any breaks or limiting .
King ... NO CHICKEN here bro just wanted something i could finally use legally ... hehe .
Wilk ... 90ks , shit mate , that would cost you $30 in fuel just to go to the shop to buy a thing of milk ... haha

Blokes , ive been going nuts trying to find some links on getting the 200W governing off this thing to get the 395W back but cant find Jack Shyte on it .
Seeing my searching skills on the net are terrible , can anyone direct me to a link / forum .
Whoever finds something gets a free ride .. haha .
Fanx .

Ohh well , my internet skills are shocking but lets just say 5 years RMIT doing electronics i worked it out .
I firstly opened the on board computer and definately nothing in there , its pretty much a few output transistors and the rest is tiny surface mount parts so i wouldnt be looking further in there so i traced back the cable group that went back to the throttle .
Boys , guess what i found , it was a little PCB board with a bit of circuitry that limited the resistance going back to the speed controler so in simple words , someone put a screw in my water tap that only alowed me to open it halfway .
Ok , so i looked at the transistors they used in the speedy , worked out their voltage and current handling off a tech book ive got , bypassed the pcb board and ran the throttle cables direct , put a nice load on the rear wheel , measured the current going to the motor andat full ungoverned throttle i was pulling WAY below the specs of the ESC .
Anyway , to cut a long story short , before the mod 35kph max with me on it and riding via GPS calibration and just now with GPS calibration and me on it i got it to 54kph max .
The new power now feels like a turbo where when i take off , my momentum actually feels like it keeps pushing it faster and obviously with the extra 200 Watts i take off ALLOT quicker .
Im frikkin wrapped with this thing .
Attached is the B4 pix

the 200W governer , i just directly bypassed it but tomorrow ill throw a switch on it so that if i get pulled over and cop a prick of a cop that somehow can test it and its speed limit i can just go back to how it was instantly as i get pulled over

my electric bike doing a burnout
43_burnout.wmv
So if the batteries weigh about 10 kilos each, have you considered a lighter power source? Say... ooooh... Li-Po?
remotebandit
26-06-2008, 01:18 PM
lol , 10kg total mate .
I have considered lipo but thats allot of coin with no garuntees .
Ive got about 4 x 4800s so i was going to given them a try eventually but early days atm
that burnout is hilarious.......

ive got a mate whos pretty green shall we say , full on everything he can possibly do for the environment he does and i told him i bought this electric scooter for the local jobs etc and i tell ya what , he was actually impressed with my attitude and just the thought of it in general .
This arvo i send him my burnout video and no shit , he came back with a pretty harsh phone call going off at me telling me ive gone electric enviro friendly and then im burning rubber into the atmosphere .
The way i see it its balancing out ? ... hehe .
WIlk , nah no bling mate , once i add the extra 6V to it and it touches 60 im wrapped mind you 0 - 60 in the link king said is 3.4 seconds where as mine takes about a good 80 meters to get there so thats about it ... ohh plus an ipod docking station . I was also thinking of buying a cheapo GPS from K Mart or something and building it into a new custom dashboard and using the GPS as the speedo / bike stereo . And thats about it .
My bro in law got onto it tonight , he weighs 120kg he only got it to just over 45kph .
1 Option i was toying with in the future as well is that i have a monkey bike and was thimking of pulling out that motor and seating it into this chassis as it fits EASY . I was going to gear it up really hi and use the electric to get me up to speed and when im at about 50 or so let the petrol take over and worked out i shoud get 75 - 80kph out of it but then im back to square 1 legally
