my mate is really into non rc flying and has a full flight set up on his comp, he's not here at the moment cuz he has gone on a music tour around europe but i think he uses flight sim X. i have seen him on this thing and man you gota know your stuff for this but its really the way to go if you want to get into this sort of flying.

MS flight Sim is the best i know of. Although they aren't as realistic as they once were. Apparently it was used as training for 9/11.

I was lucky enough a couple of weeks ago to have a go in a real flight simulator at Richmond RAAF here in NSW.
Got to fly a 707 and a Hurcules

The Hurc was easy, the 707 was hard.

The whole simulator has since been packed up and sent to America as they don't fly 707's anymore. Worst of all, is the gave it away!

There is another piece of software that sposed to be insanely huge in regards to disk space but way better than microsoft flight sim X edition but im not sure wat it is I think its used for actual training somewhere...

I have FS X edition and i was running it on a laptop ith no special gfx cards @ medium spec (i.e few tress and details etc) with next to no glitching or lag.

If your still interested when i can next speak to him ill found out what the better ones called.
If your in a hurry go for flight sim X

you going for the whole lot with yokes n pedals? need a co pilot? XD

well funny you should say that bd , my misses bought me half hour at 1 of the flight training places here in Vic and assuming half hour wasnt enough , i upped it to a few hours ( and QUIET A FEW HUNDRED $ later ) but ive really got the bug and instead of spending $350 an hour there i thought i could invest in the best possible sim i could build at home
