What Ali rear hubs are you guys using?
What Drive shafts you using them with?
I have CVD's and the Dynomite Rear hubs - They bind if you tighten the wheel nuts to the nylon. Its a problem I had on the weekend - wheel fell off :(
I know I can turn the nut around so the nylon goes on first - would prefer a better "fix" than that tho B)

Mine does that too. I'm using Losi/Mip cvds and fullforce hubs.
However, Using the topcad rims, I dont get any binding in the rear, I get it in the front instead :(

What part is binding? - I dont get it - but dont feel bad - i dont get alot of things -lol-
Although i do have a kinda similar issue i guess? I got Integy Rear hubs, and 3Racing cvds - My Topcad alum rims bind up if i tighten the wheel nut down too far in the rear - i just loosen it till it spins free tho, and works fine...
Is mine not working how it should either?? -lol-

That's the same as we are experiencing I believe. You *should* be able to tighten them down without it binding. Although, even stock, mine would bind.

When I get home I am going to try shimming it
4mm (hole size) shim (.25mm thick) between the outter ball race and the shaft split pin. That way when tightening the wheel up will only put pressue on the shim and split pin.
Works in theory ..... :?

Tried that. Didn't work for me. I was hoping it would take up some of the slack and stop the cvd from wobbling around, which it did a bit.
Make sure you try use a shim that doesn't cover the whole bearing (ie, just enough to put pressure on the inside ring of the bearing).

hey have you guys got loose steering issues??? Is it worth starting a thread to find out a bit more?

loose steering? As in slop? If so, it's a known issue with no solution yet. An aluminium steering setup works, but suppsedly wears out and brings the slop back with it. Time will tell though.

In 1/10th we use shims to get rid of the slop
In my mini-T i have used some teflon motor shims to get rid of some slop. Unforuntely the Mini-T out of the box is looser than a $2 whore.

yeah, i only just read that about the metal upgrade wearing out - although i'm well inclined to have a go at it - the stock setup is horrible...i cant even figure out where it's coming from -lol- I've figured it's the steering assembly bits that are sliding up and down on the 2 'pin' shafts - but not really sure :( I thoyught about shimming it out too, but the gap looks to be about ½-¾ of a cm, so i didnt bother -lol-
I think i saw BRP selling those shims too :)
