Winter may not be quiet over but with the West Coast Interclub scheduled for September and the states championships in October we need to start getting the track but up to scratch. On saturday 23rd August we will be holding a busy bee . Fresh dirt has been delivered to the club , a rotary hoe pedestrian roller and bobcat have all been organised to assist with getting this new dirt down and getting the track smooth. There is plenty of other stuff to do including painting, grass cutting, tree pruning and a general tidy up ,so there is some thing for every body. This work is crucial to getting the club back up and running for Friday night racing and the other mentioned events. Members that chose the $50 discounted fee option made a commitment to the club and it is expected that all these members will make an effort to come down and put in a few hours work.
Gates will open shortly before 9am and tools for most jobs will be provided. How ever if you have anything that you think may be of use on the day please bring it, ie whipper snippers, lawn mowers ,shovels, wheel barrows ,chain saws, paint brushes ect.We also need a litre or 2 of white and red paint suiteable for repainting the new and existing concrete curbing around the track. If you have some lying around or are prepared to donate some please respond to this post. Please remember to wear sturdy footwear and bring eye protection if you bring any power tools. To assist us in organising this day please respond if you are going to be attending and which tools you are bringing if any.
Hope to see you all There

Ladies & Gents, Please remember the Busy Bee is this Saturday the more people we have helping get the work done, the sooner we can open the track back up for racing :)

Once again a quick reminder to all West Coast members about the busy bee this week end and a big thank you to all those that have already replied and offered their time. There are how ever still a large number of club members that we haven't heard from, if you are one of those we would like to hear from you.
The weather promises to be great and a sausage sizzle will be provided for lunch so come along lend a hand and catch up with your fellow racers.
Hey, any chance that some older members can open the gates early like 7:00 am? I need to cook food for my school fate and leave by like 12:30pm. I'd like to put bulk hours in, plus it's easier to work when it's cooler before the sun is fully out. :p "granno worker"
Speeking of granno, I have a good idea for the starting lines. Considering we usually paint the sand and it rubs off, I think if you supervised me I could dig some narrow holes in various qualifying positions and put concrete in the ditches for permanent starting lines. Then instead of spray painting each race we could just sweep the loose dirt with a broom.
Something to think about any ways. :D

JC I dont think heat tomorrow is going to be a big issue. We try to keep activity at the club to a minimum before 9 am to keep the neighbors happy.Remember it was complaints from the neighbors that got the Nitro club shut down,we dont want to give them any reason to start on us.
Hi everybody
I would like to come and help tomorrow but unfortunately I have kids sport in the morning and a job early in the afternoon. What tome do you thik you will be working until?

Big thanks to everyone who came down today and put in some time and effort to get the track back to scratch. It really started to look like a track again!
Hi Everybody
A big thank you to Mic Morley for letting me drive the roller on Sunday. I think my little corner of the track that I rolled looks great. Mic did most of the rest, so a big thanks from the rest of us. Thanks also for all the good advice. I am still on L plates so I'm still trying to learn as much as I can. A very special thanks must go to Matt, not only did he pass on some good advice, he also let me drive his truck for a lap or two. It was my first drive in a 1:10 truck. I only have a 1:18 buggy, so it was a very different drive. I am definetly looking for a 1:10 for the start of the season. I believe there's a chance there may be a race on this Friday night if the weather is kind. I can't wait. Chears everyone.
