While taking the truck out for a spin I noticed it had a tendancy to spin out when cornering hard.

It appears the front end was too high and the front wheels wern't getting any grip. This problem was even more exagerated while accelerating.

I changed the front shock mount points to the lowest available setting.

They were on the highest setting. It has made a big difference and the truck is now a lot happier when cornering.

I also tested it's jumping ability because I thought this might be affected by the change but the truck was still able to run up a curved gutter at full speed without any clearance issues so I will stick with these settings for a while.

what a coincidence, i have also dropped the arse end of my Ultima recently. i did it for one reason - i noticed that the cars at the track have their arses low to the ground and i think its done for better traction.

but there was a positive side effect. the rear drive shafts where a lot more "flat" when the arse was lowered to the ground (rather than on 45 degree angles from the hub to gearbox). this made the drive train a tad more quiet and i thnk offered less friction which equals power/speed gain (small but noticable).
