Hey all , after 3 months searching for the right car and the budget increasing many many times over i have finally found the car i am buying in QLD .

Now , i have had the car checked by the manufacturer themselves with a FULL DETAILED report and its passed with the ussual little things youd expect it would need on its next service .

What happens from here , do i pay the bloke the price he is asking , take the car and then bring it to Vic and then go to Vic roads and do the transfer and then pay the stamp duty or do i fix the bloke up with the stamp duty as well .

Who is the best company to truck this car from QLD to Vic and whats an average price .

Dunno guys , all i know is ive found the car but now dont know the next step so any help would be great .

Fanx .

Adam .

i bought my toyota jzx90 mark2 from qld , as they are a bit of a hrad find over here in perth . i flew over for a holiday , made the purchase on the 1st day and drove it around for a week , and the last day put it at a trucking deppo , $1200 odd dollars and a couple of weeks later it was in perth , had to re rego it so needs to go over the pits. basically add $2k to the price of the purchase for rerego and trucking ..

i used autotrans , ps they stole my gear knob but other than that they seemed ok service wise

Ive been struck by the Porsche bug , the car is a Porsche Cayenne 2006 .

20 inch original Porsche techno rims
Air suspension ( with adjustable height from the dash )
Bi- xenon headlamps with auto leveling
14 speaker bose sat nave system
refrigerated glove box
Seats have a key memory function so depends whos key you put in it will adjust the seat and change thae station and temp to that driver
4.5 liter Porsche V8

plus then all the standard things that come with a 2006 Cayenne

Yeah Marty i am supplied with a road worthy and have the seller has hooked me up with a car transport company wholl do Brisbane to Vic for $480 .

Ive got the car booked in at Porsche up there for Thursday for the Full Comprehensive pre buy check ( another $340 ) so if it passes that ill fly up on Tuesday and organise what ever i can .

Holy sh*t RB, nice car! you selling drugs on the side or sumfin??

OK i have just looked down this same path in purchasing a 4wd. To be honest it was a bit of a pain but there was a deal i could not resist, unfortunately though another buyer got in before i did, however it was a blessing in disguise as I just found and bought a beautfil car here in Perth.

Organise a REVS check, speak to Vic Roads and they will lead you in the right direction

OK so yes, you do have to pay the dealership/seller first (this is prob the hardest thing as you are acting purely on trust)

ther most common transport company is autotrans as mxmarty suggested, many of the dealerships here in WA are using them and are happy with them. A very close friend of mine who has now bought his 3rd car interstate now uses toll transport, and he speaks highly of them.

Once the car is delivered you can drive it around etc however you will need to put it in your name which requires you to go over pits etc.

they also state that you must renew your rego within the 3 months of you coming interstate, however if say the rego has got 10 months still owing i would just wait, apparently 100's of people normally just wait until the other states rego runs out until you renew it.

hope that helps, this is the info i had researched and was about to use only 4 weeks ago.

Ok , so heres the go , i flew to Brisbane today to be with the car as it went through Porsches examination and your gonna piss yourselves .

" Adam , the car has 3 issues and 1 of thems major "

Im in depression again as this will be the 3rd let down

" Issue 1 is that there are 2 x 5 cent sized dints in the rear door " ... WTF , i know bloke , i there so small i can tap them out from behind .

" Issue 2 this car has 2 horns and 1 doesnt work " ... Who gives a F , i only need 1 horn .

" Issue 3 , the S badge doesnt stick to the body well and may need replacing " .... Uhhm , i paid you guys $350 and your telling me about a cosmetic badge .

I want to know the important things , how is it mechanically , he says the car scored 176 out of a possible 180 points on the check and mechanically the car was perfect absolutely perfect with not 1 issue .

Guys , Porsche are a bit tooooo thorough on their checking of cars , id hate to take my hilux in there , theyd die in the ass if they tested it ... lol .

They then handed me the certificates and guess what , their testing of the vehicle also includes a Revs check and a V check which was to see if the title was clear so big shnapps to Porsche . The service tech that helped me out also took me out for lunch as a guest seeing i was from interstate ... how bloody good is this service . Im actually considering doing a Holliday to QLD every 18 months with the excuse of letting Porsche Brisbane service my car in the future .

Excellent .

Anyway , going back on tuesday to get it loaded onto a truck and finish the finances with the owner and guess whos organised the truck for me ... PORSCHE ... haha . $390 their price inc GST and thats all i need to pay .

theres 2 flip levers in the center console near the gear stick and the left 1 is for high , mid and low gearing and the lever on the right is to lower it or heighten it . All up it can drop the ground clearence from low ( 145mm ground clearance and this really drops the body over the rims ) all the way up to 273mm ground clearance for if you need to clear a few obstacles . Normal ride height is 217mm ground clearance .

If your in normal mode , once you hit 80ks it automatically drops the car to low so its on the floor for better handling .

There are also 3 buttons for ride settings from sports to comfort and they somehow stiffen or loosen the shock for a different ride ??? dont know how it works but it works .

The difference between driving the spring shock version to the air shock version is absolutely so massive that my wife picked the difference INSTANTLY as she said this car actually felt like it was attached to the road .

In lowest mode with sports set there is so little body roll you dont realise your in a 4wd where as the standard Cayennes without this air suspension option are a bit of a boat ... well they are a boat
