Its a re-badged Futaba G190 gyro: http://www.futaba-rc.com/radioaccys/futm0830.html

I assume you want one for drifting?

For 1/10 drift they are not really needed for 1/18 because they're so small and nimble the gyro's are handy to have. I think they make drifting boring for any scale.

For racing they are illegal.

But doesnt it bring an element of realism to drifting? .. i mean if you go on youtube and watch a drift tutorial (the one with Ken Nomura is good http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=0MJOKh8aktM) or watch a drifting video with a camera in the cockpit its all about the car trying to correct itself from spinning out .. they release the steering wheel the car applies opposite lock automatically and then they hold it to continue sliding .. so isnt that what the D-Box emulates?

Yeah would just use it for drifting.

Dont forget snpy that all gyros have gain control so you can actually dial in how much you want it to take control of the car . Ive thrown a gyro from 1 of my helis into my 1:5 scale as the rear is very sensative and with gain up to max it can catch most slides .

If your a beginer you can turn the gain up to max and as you get much better turn it down to minimum or even try to get some money back on it through ebay ... lol

It definately is ALLOT more fun to drive drift without this but if your novice and havnt got it down pat yet and want to see drifts straight away , this will be a massive teacher for you as long as you keep turning the gain down as you get better and not rely on it .

None of the guys that come down to the drift sessions have a d-box, Its all about the opposite lock.. You generally will pick up RC drifting quickly its just a matter of linking the corners and matching the car in front that takes the time and skill.. a d-box will only hinder your learning imo.

i have one, but drifting a 4wd rc car is so easy it actually made things harder.
i should try it in a 2wd car, they are way harder to do a decent consistent drift in.

just from playing with it a few gyros over the years , unless you go a very good quality gyro , allot of them will not catch the tail end of a 2wd .

I actually bought my drifter in '05 when they first came out .. so im not that bad but i aint pro either .. just wanted to see what other people thought about it cause usually they all just say cheat box cheat box .. wanted some more educated responses .. i actually bought one to try out but havent installed it yet .. trying to get a mate into drifting RC so maybe i'll pass it on to him
