iWaver 02 PRO WRX

I picked up one of these from Azzachaz tonight. It was a tough choice seeing all the options I had between various series and body shells - but the 02 PRO with foam tyres and PRO ESC seemed the better choice for what I planned on doing with it.

To start with I turfed the plastic wheel nuts and bearings and swapping to the X-Speed PLUS motor.........

Hey BAGES, I installed a 1x1 stack of IRF7317 FETs on one of my iWaver01's on the weekend.

I installed the X-Speed PLUS (the one you have) and it ran flawlessly thru about 3 sets of batteries.

Where on earth do you run them with faster motors.

I still have my standard XSpeed motors in the box. They go fast enough without any motor upgrades.

Squeezer I dont know about anyone else here with an iwaver - but i have never run the stock motor - it got turfed before I even powered it up for the first time............
Again not sure what other people have here but I realised the other day looking at i waver stuff on the net that 02's come with the option of a mid mount for the motor.
As mine is out of action awaiting new FET's I put the MM together - basically instead of the motor sitting behind the rear axle it sits in front..... dunno if it make any kind of difference.
The first pic is from front of car, second one from behind car (apologies for crappy pics) - the cradle for MM is longer so the "H" piece joining it to the chassis is shorter oh and the motor sits in it at 45 degrees.

Yeah, i have installed a MM on one of my 01's. The car seems to handle smoother now but I did need to use a different shell because of the longer wheel base. I used an R34 GTR shell and sanded out the rear wheel arches

Just in case anyone thought the above two pics where photoshoped - they werent - they are actual rims I was trying to fit under the iWaver !!!! Here are a few iWaver 00's I bought for the kids - the cool thing is unlike the 01 and 02's their shells come with lots of racing decals rather than just a plain colour - but I get the best of both worlds, my daughter has requested her wrx to be painted pink (ok she is only 6) - so rather than waste the WRC paint job I will be painting my white shell for her and retaining the WRC one for me !!! This is how they look - except hers is still to be painted pink............
