Ive noticed some of the crawler guys throwing brushless motors into their crawlers .

I thought high turn motors was the way to go as they had PLENTY enough power anyway or am i wrong .

Its a bit if a mixed pack thing, Some guys run BL other dont ... I for one dont, ive got BL in every other car ive got as a regular runner but i like the brushed motors in the crawlers, less expense , cheaper ESC can be used and the motor has its own drag brake.

I do like the HPI motors , very cheap and very quite aswell, ive got a eagle racing 40T in my FJ40 and dam its a load motor at double the cost of the HPI 65t i have, i wished id got another HPI but the shop didnt have one in the turn rating i wanted at the time.

The good thing about brushless motors in crawlers is when your in water as they have less issues.

yeah but an esc is always an esc so if that gets wet its gonna be allot more expensive

most ESC for crawling are fully water proof these days so no dramas there and its easy to add extra water proofing if needed.

Yeap the novak goat seems like a good choice if you want to spend a few $$$ to get a better set up.

One of the fortunate thing about crawlers is how little current they draw, so heat is not a issue. If you have a ESC that is not water proof you can always chuck it in a sealed container like those boxes the servos come in or raid the missus's tuperware containers.

The only down side to driven through water is that you will most likely want to pull down your tranny and diffs after just to make sure their not full of water.

Oh and empty the water out of those beadlock wheels, memory foam starts to smell after a few days of stagnant water sitting in them. :)
