Based on a lengthened version of the 6-time ROAR National Championship-winning RC10T4, the engineers behind the doors in Area-51 made the SC10 both all show and all go! The result is the SC10 kit, an authentic scale racing experience.
The SC10 comes ready to assemble with a clear short course race-truck body, KMC™ style wheels, aggressive tread multi-terrain tires, all which have been designed to look just like the full-size race trucks that run in short course off-road series around the country. The world of high-performance 1:10 scale electric R/C has never before seen this level of scale accuracy! It’s easy to see that the SC10 is another champion by design!

They must have adjusted the suspension geometry as well, no way is that a standard rear T4 shock tower.

Damned Associated, they keep making me spend money on their products!

it could be, that shell is going to be big.
if you compare where a standard body sits compared the height of the top of the tire and where that body is sitting, its prob twice the height of a t4

KingBob

I dunno about twice the height, the T4 does have a bonnet bulge for the front tower, i'd say that'd be an inch taller, have to be wider though. But they won't be T4 arms, they'll have to be shorter to keep it scale. Looks like a different front bulkhead too. Definitely some kind of roll cage on it though.

thats a diff centre designed for abuse, prob because the thing weighs 500g more than a t4

Does look like a T4/B4 front and rear end. The sock towers are modified though, they have extra mounting points for the body mounts and bumpers. The chassis isnt T4, its new, longer with extra mount points. My guess itd be cheaper to buy the kit that convert a T4. Ride height not really adjustable which is disappointing. Basically its a long wheelbase T4.

Will be interesting to see if it handles any better than the rest of the Core trucks on the market. I do have to admit, of all the Core trucks out there right now the Associated SC8 and SC10 have the best looking body followed closely by the Baja 5T Black version.

We'll have to make a class for them down at WC.

They would have to have their own class for WAORMA events, the wheelbase is 35mm longer than max allowed for truck. On club nights though i'm sure they'd be fine.

The diff looks like a nitro oil filled diff, maybe they planning a 1/10 nitro version aswell down the track.

I'm loving the look of it, i can see these being a heap of fun on bunbury track, thats a nice wide core type track.. good chance one of these babys will making its way into my collection.

i think a factory team one will have adjustable ride height.

KB, they do have ajustable height, you have to use those shock spacers which ajust the ride height....yeh i know it might not be as precise as having threaded shock bodies, but its still ajustable...

Emlyn

it probably just like the stealth version...

Being T4 based you may be able to use the threaded shock bodies from the FT T4

Wonder if you could run onroad tires on it? Maybe 1/8 slicks? Touring car tyres/wheels would probablt be a bit small.

Looks like a whole bunch of fun to me! .. and maybe another class at West Coast :)

They'd just be made part of the truck class. Be interesting to see if the longer wheelbase offers any advantages though.

obzELiTe

i think it will spin less. or at least be able to drift more,

Nissanmania
11-02-2009, 01:47 PM
Seems to handle real well on that track BUT it looks like a high grip artificial indoor surface and it might be an exceptionally good driver making it look good!

I certainly think a bit more wheel base and weight would make the T4 handle better and with the power of brushless and Lipos, they wont go any slower. As they haven't released on an updated T4 for years Associated might think this is where the truck class is headed. If it could race in the truck class or a new class is created, I'd go there.

KingBob
11-02-2009, 02:19 PM
It wont be able to race in truck class at interclubs, states or Nats, as the wheelbase is too long for the rules. But for friday night racing itd probably be fine. Be cool to see a class of them at the autumn river festival though! Dont think they'll be available before that though.

the more i look at this the more i think that the extended chassis is just a t4 chassis with a new rear chassis part that is longer and mounts to the existing rear shock mount.
that would explain the side intrusion bars also not being part the chassis.

If there are enuff of them they can have there own class, and run against the traxxas slashes there is some interest in having there own class. Ive got one of the SC10's coming to me and id rather run it against other full body trucks.

The 3 Slash's looked awesome last night running side by side. I recon West Coast is a perfect track for them as they seemed to handle the bumps and jumps really well. They also looked awesome seeing a couple of them drifting through the corners.

The class would suit Dennis perfectly because its pretty hard to hack with them.

I recon it will hook up pretty well with a sway bar kit on it and the ball diff conversion.

The SC8 & SC10 body are the best looking bodies of all the of all the Corr trucks out there so set up as a on road car would look hot.

I was thinking that the sway bar kit would be useful for off road too.
