Have you checked out my 'Members Rides' threads?
Basically they are 1/27 scale cars and trucks that are fully upgradible just like regular hobby quality RC vehicles.
I have been selling them for quite a while now and have built up my own collection also.
They start out at about $70 for RTR set, then a bit more for the later models.
Then the sky's the limit for upgrades and mods :)
I just finished a hybrid iWaver01/02 today. Looks like it may be a good performer.

They are very fun to paly with (and fix) I just got mine running yesterday with a few of my mates, had five cars going around a makeshift track. Ran out of batteries though. So we took the big boys (relative) out, the mini quakes. Worked out that iwavers make good speed bumps, nothing broken on either sets of cars.
If you are in Sydney there are also a few hobby stores that sell them, ask me and I will find which ones sell them. You may want to get one (or two) off Azza as he is cheaper.

Get 2 from Azza then you can race em.
If you get the 02 model then reccomend you get
1) Alloy nuts
2) Bearings for Wheels
3) Ball Diff
Those 3 mods I can thoroughly reccommend

I second that opinion by squeezer top of the list is bearings - so after you put the wheels back on the alloy nuts are a must and the ball diff will be my next buy....... 8)

YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY !!! Just got the call from Azzachaz and my iWaver has been resurrected !amazed
The best part is my bro-in-law hooked an 01 Porsche of Azza last night, and plans are in the mix to build a track in my garage. By the way is there anyone on TA apart from Azzachaz and myself from Canberra - and even better with an iWaver they want to race????? 8)

You work in IT? I could ask around at my work, Department of Education, Science and Training. We take on grads all the time.
