Gday,

Just posting some pics of my new ride, got it for Christmas just for some fun but then i went down to Bayswater and my interest in Racing was rekindled, as you can see its a B4RS Rtr, i was going to get the Factory Team Edition but since i had sold most of my RC gear off (down to a Mini LST2 for Fun) i decided to just get the RTR so i could have a go straight away, also being a married man with a newborn son i like to keep the spending down to small increments so the missus doesnt get too upset, haha

Anyway the Stock Esc is now gone, replaced by a LRP Sphere Comp and ive also installed the Losi GSM Receiver?Radio out of my Mini Lst2 after it (i?) broke another f*****g servo! Just got to get a Brushless Stock Motor (maybe Mod, who knows) and should be good to go, i have rebuilt almost the whole car and i would say that it was fairly roughly put together, i rebuilt the shocks and filed most of the burrs etc of the suspension parts, i also rechecked all the turnbuckles and found them to be at most about 5-7mm off the kit recommended lengths in places and inconsistent side to side!

I have also sprayed up a new body which was my first go in a while (Jconcepts Illuzion) and added some hand detailing to the RTR race body to make it look a little more original.

I like the J concepts shell and how you've painted it.

What's next for the upgrades? Are you using Nimh or Lipo cells?

Matt.

Yeh i really liked the Shape of the Jconcepts Body so i didnt want to put a heap of flames or whatever on there, just kept it simple and let the body do the talking!

Im getting a CVD Kit soon and will probably upgrade the turnbuckles and hinge pins, i was thinking the Lunsford Super Duty Combo, have you ever ordered from their Website? I suppose it would be better to find an Online hobby store rather than go direct to them, other than that i might upgrade the shocks but i will see how these go first.

Ive only got a couple of batteries at the moment, the first (and only so far) night i raced at Bayswater i had one HARD 4200 Nimh stick pack and as you can guess it was pretty sucky by the end of the night after 4 top up charges! So i went and bought my first Lipo Battery (H-Energy 4000mah 7.4v 25C) and i couldn't believe the difference, so much better and so much lighter, i have been charging it through the deans connectors from my Swallow AC/DC 2 but i have been told it is much better and safer to charge them through a balancer and the balance lead? I was looking at a Trakpower one but not sure yet, hopefully nothing catches fire in the meantime!

Just an update, i have been busy with my B4, i got a 17.5 Team Orion Vortex Brushless motor last wedensday and managed to get it installed and ready to go for Friday nights Racing at Bayswater, still need to trim the motor wires down but i am waiting until i get my 72/75t Spurs in the mail and then i will make them a bit neater! Also got some new rear tyres and altogether i was pretty happy with the improvement in the car, i went from a best time of 8 laps at 5.26 (my first week racing after about 10 yrs) to a best of 9 laps in 5.24 so a pretty big improvement, had a heap of fun anyway and had a great bunch of guys to race against.

So now the pursuit of faster times must continue! Had a bad start to yesterday but my mood improved about midday when i checked the Post and found my Liquid Rc package, got a Buggy rear Spring set, a Mip CVD kit and also a servo for my Mini Lst2 (now i can thrash it on Friday, weather permitting), luckily the boss (me) let me have the afternoon off so i was able to play with it all straight away,

So the lesson for the day, buying stuff makes you feel good?! haha
