Peoples, I have a query that may sound stupid to a well-rounded R/C fanatic.
The attached picture is Step 2 in the manual for building my Tamiya Durga - I have already completed and bashed it around heaps, but there is a problem:
Part B5 (screwed in by BB6 to the chassis) is there for what appears to be only to cover a whole in the bottom of the chassis.
I find this ridiculous for the following reason: this part doesn't cover the whole well enough to keep debrit out of the otherwise perfectly sealed drivshaft. The times I have driven off-road have resulted in grains of dirt/sand getting stunk in the pinion within a couple of minutes and damaging the main gear with a bloody awful sound and increased friction so the car hardly rolls by itself.
If anyone can shed some light on the situation, they are totally awesome.
Tripman, in anticipation.

Ahh a tiny piece. if it's there for no other reason than to plug a hole, and doesnt need to be removed, just superglue around the edges. Should fill the hole, problem solved.

KingBob, you're awesome.
That's definately the most rewarding solution - keeps the dirt out. I was too scared to just do that without getting a second opinion from the pros.
It still puzzles me as to why it is there though...
Cheers mate.

Superglue can fix almost anything, and what it cant, duct tape or wd-40 can! lol

sicaflex? What's that?
PS. True that - if it moves and it shouldn't = duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should = WD-40 Lol...
