Maybe something to do with the fact they are both HPI basher spec RC's ?

I would'nt mind doing a Brushless conversion on my Savage but it nothing like the Stock one. But even stock they are pretty tough...if HPI have given you an SS Savage with a brushless conversion it will be pretty tough.
However, what you really wanna do if you are going to juice it up with some heavy duty Batteries and hard driving in contact Damien and get some diffs from him. Big Pete would have a better idea than me if he is still doing these indestructable diffs for savage but they are the best...hands down, no shit THE BEST.
And by the looks of things a better mesh or s better quality pinion

yeah I replaced the pinion with a Robinson Racing Hardened Steel, Diffs have been fine so far, but am only running on 2 * 2s 5000mah 30C packs. Worth the $$ yeah I don't regret getting it in the least. I can't run Nitro or Gas where I live as the neighbours chuck the shits about the noise.

Yeah already upgraded the steering (bearings), adjustable upper arms, titanium turnbuckles, a few sets of tyres and Spektrum DX3S radio.

And a truck load of spares :D

At least the stock steering servo is decent (rebadged Futaba 3305)

i've seen a few tires go like that, if you still have the chunk you can superglue it back on. only good for bashing then.

Had a full rebuild, hardened drive gear, "bulletproof diffs", RPM Arms, TCS 5mm Chassis and a new lid. Also shortened the motor wires and redid the battery trays to handle a 5s2p A123 set up (16.5 Volts, 4600mah 30/60C rated, no LVC needed, charge at 10-20amps)

Radio is now a KO EX-5UR and Servo is now a Towerpro MG996 (12kg Digital)
