OK here it is guys, the news you have been waiting for. The land behind the netball courts is going to be ours. But we have to come up with a bloody good proposal on how we are going to manage the land. We have to sell our selves. The council wants us down there at the site at 4.00pm on the 23 of this month with our proposal. So i am putting this out in the general RC world for any help in drafting this proposal up. If you can help please let me know asap. I am going to call a meeting down at the site next Saturday, please all committee members please attend and anyone else with any input please.
Cheers, Craig

What do they mean by "manage the land"? Are they talking clearing, track building, handling drainage etc?
Or are we talking actual design etc?

Basically we need to look after the nature aspect of it, that means we can not remove any tree or bushes. Also no rubbish and damage to surrounding habitat. We need to propose how we are going to build the track with this in mind. I know we can do this, we have all seen the land. All we have to do is lay a track with a entry point to do this.

OK guys this is the area, As you can see there is three possible locations for the track. I favor the two closest to the netball courts. Reason being its close to water and electricity.

There does appear to be 3 large open areas, but for a decent sized one, the area furthest from Tucker st is best. Plus its right on Beacham Cres, so access for trucks, front end loadrs bobcats etc shouldnt be an issue.
We can easily design around the existing trees. I might go down tomorrow, take a few pics, measure up a bit. Hardest part will be positioning the rostrum so the trees dont block the view at all.

The site according to streetview. Looks big enough. The closer ou get to Tucker st though, the more grass trees there are, which obviously we cant remove. We can design around it, but not easily.

Ah manage the land also means transplanting bushes.

Well, looking at that pic it looks like its fairly clear, but i'm sure we can move those twigs in the foreground.
Have they said anything about fencing?

You guys may also want to think about the 'it' word of 2008, Sustainability. Mention sustainability a few times in your proposal and I'm sure it will get you some points.

Had a look at the kwinana site, lots of space even if we dont remove any trees or grass trees.

Nah, probably because I might not have looked at the right threads in the forums. The area looks great, but fencing is gonna be a pain/expensive!

OK here is the new on the off road track.... how many environmentalist does it take to screw up plans.
Well its not all bad news, theres a possibility we could get some land directly behind the netball courts on the oval.
Still pretty much up in the air but we will keep plugging away.

Just to let people know we have about another two weeks on our trial period for the on-road. The report card still has a clean slate from the council. So the question will be asked if we can start to run off road on the grass. If we are allowed and i cant see why not we will run it on alternative week ends to the on-road. The good thing about grass is the weather does not have the same impact as it does on other surfaces during winter.

OK here is a question, if Kwinana RC was to set up a off road meet on grass how many people would be interested. If we get enough numbers will try and organize this after the states and the ryper inter club.
