Yep totally pissed off the track has seen to much water over the last week making it a hasard for the marshalls.

I thought I was smart :( I checked these boards just before I was about to leave and saw this post.
Doesn't matter, dropped it off to him today :)

I was annoyed...running around all arvo trying to get my car to work (had some servo problems), and I bought a motor specifically so I could race, and then I couldnt...oh well, there is always next week ;)

There wasn't any rain for a few days before friday was there? I'm a bit worried there's gonna be a lot of cancelled race nights seeing as we're coming into the rainy season... :(

You got it Justo my friend, that's what happens when there's not good drainage, but shhhh, very sore point with some racers.

I think last year west coast was closed most of june/july, and half of august. We'd just resurfaced the track, and had constant rain for the whole couple of months.

I think your'e right KingBob, in fact if my memory serves me right it didn't stop bloody raining for a whole week and a bit, I must admitt that's what carine is also counting on having as well, help settle the surface down and get it nice and HARD. !evil !evil !evil !evil !evil !evil !evil !evil !evil !evil

Yup, i think we finished the surface over a weekend, and none of us got a chance to use it, 2 days later is pi$$ed down for a week!
Though despite not being able to use it for 2 months, you have to admit the end result for the states and races since has been awesome.
Hopefully the carine track will get the same rain and end result.

MMMM Drainage will always be a problem ,a mix of clay & brick dust is gr8 for drainage but requires a great deal of maintanance & doesnt always provide the traction that drivers wont. 95% clay 10% river sand creates awsome traction with minimal maintanance ,how ever the clay will hold a lot of water ,in the prosess of absorbing the water the clay push's up a very muddy silt witch seems to take days to dry out, causeing untold problems for marshales & drivers alike. There is only one answer, a !lmao INDOOR TRACK !lmao .I would also like to piont out that WCMRC has soak wells all over the track to assist with the drainage .With no rain over the W/E I would say that WC could be raced on tonight ,but as today is monday & not friday lets hope for no rain until saturday ;)

On the subject gents... I'm guessing there will be busy-bee's for both tracks at some stage... Keep us updated so we can come and help make it all happen. I dont really care what I can offer, hell even if it needs weeding/whipper snippering, etc. Esp for interclub/states, need to make the track's look sh1t hot.
As for rain and winter. I can only hope that Perry at Ryper wasnt joking when he said he was re-vamping (increasing the size of) his indoor off-road track. 1/18th off road racing starts at Ryper very soon, lets just hope the track is re-worked! :)
He's also talking about an indoor 1/18th on-road. As the slot car stuff is being removed/moved around, etc.
should keep the 1/18th ppl entertained during the rain season.
As for WCMRC, the talk of ripping it up before the interclub is interesting. What if it's ripped up, re-compacted, made all nice, then it totally pissed down rain again.. :(
urgh

Same thing that happened at the states (WORMA) We had to place yellow sand on the track so it could be raced on &| .The answer in years gone past is to place wood shavings on the track to soak up any moisture & then sweep it off just before the event . ?!

need to keep a massive roll of synthetic grass in the shed or something. whack it down over the top of trouble areas :) dunno, it's a tough one I guess.
the idea of moving the tabletop and raising that last corner right up say half a meter sounded good.. :) with a bit of a decline coming back onto the main straight. would be good for drainage too. hrmmm
