moticed these for 20$ at supercheap. dunno how many amps it puts out. but then i read in my intellipeak charger manual that using these was not recommended? h'come?

yeah thats right. 1:1 scale car charger hooked up to rc car battery charger. dirty power u say. mmmkay. i had a quick look at a nicer jaycar power supply but i cant imagine them being much better than a converted pc power supply. so ill just have to give that a go sometime.

you ideally want a 15A or more AC -> DC power supply. like the Powertech unit's....

a car battery charger will not work properly

I am using a 4amp 12V car battery charger to power my LRP micro charger. Granted I am only charging micro packs so I guess the current draw isn't that high. On another note my friend uses a transformer (240v -> 110v) that outputs at 250mA to power his Pirarhna charger. Not sure if that means anything though.

LOLO.. Yes my wife spotted 1 of these chargers and thought it would charge 7.2..
Oh well 1 more unwanted gift to the never get used stack in the shed..
