I've gone and got a brushless setup, just wondering who solders the speedy wires directly to the motor and who uses connectors of some sort...

If connectors, what type do you use?? and also does it make any difference to power output of motor??

Thanks

i direct solder my motors the less connections the better imo because they can melt together (bullets) and they can disconnect in a race :/ but for bashing, changing your motors allot bullets would be the way to go..
what motor/speedy ya pick up?

allways solder the motors on, ive had the good gold bullets come apart in a practice run at the track the frist time i went out with them after thinking it was going to make life easy doing motor swaps.

just saying this DO NOT TURN ON THE SPEEDY WITHOUT THE SENSOR CABLE PLUGGED INTO THE SPEEDY AND THE MOTOR BECAUSE THE MOTOR WILL SMOKE

I'd use 4mm gold plugs to connect the ESC to the motor, and just put some heatshrink over them when it's plugged in to stop them coming apart.

Oh and +1 on Emlyn's comment, I found out the hard way and smoked a brand new 5.5t because I hadn't plugged in the sensor wire. (Lrp speedy sees no sensor connected as "brushed" mode)

cool, thanks, was wondering about that wire, lol.... yeah, i was thinking about putting some heat wrap etc over them, just wondered if there is a loss in performance or any bad things that could happen..
