View Full Version : Night racing
Why oh why, do we race on friday nights, instead of saturday nights, or arvos.
I'm assuming its because most people have somewhere else to be saturdays but an old bloke like myself clearly doesn't....

FNR suits the families a little better IMO.
Other than the late night for the kiddies it leave the rest of the weekend open to explore other non-R/C and R/C related activities. There are lots of people including yourself Dags that explore these other R/C opportunities.
If we raced Saturday or Saturday night West Coast would interfere with Nitro events held at Whiteman Park.
Let also not forget those that also Fly heli's and planes at Whiteman Park and the various other venues throughout Perth on Saturdays and Sundays.
Then there is the people that work Saturdays.
FNR is convenient for most but most of all you need to find the committee members that are willing (and their partners) to spend all day Saturday or Saturday night down at the track instead of Friday. I would think the number of members racing would drop by about 30 - 50% if we raced Saturday or Saturday night.
2 night of racing every week would also have a huge impact on the neighbors which would be fround upon in the eyes of the coucil who we hire the land off of.

Half the reason I gave up onroad was when ur working 6 days a week, and then the one day you have off is at the track it really stresses things at home.
For me a friday or even Sat night would be cool. But the Friday nights now seems to work well so don't fix what aint broke!
