modelflight say it matches up with the HS-55. r the dimensions the same? do i even need a servo saver. im not quite sure what they do. but if im paying 40$ for a servo then i dont want it to die in the ass. stock setup has one. 1:10 touring has one. should i order one of these now for when my stock servo innevitably dies?

I think a lot of people (myself included) run without one. Although, I don't see a $40 servo as being a big thing as long as it lasts a decent amount of time :P Just rememebr that a servo saver will add to the already *huge* amount of slop the steering has.

Also, don't bother with a hs55....get a hs81 (or hs81mg). If the servo breaks, it'll most likely be the gears which I'm sure are pretty cheap to replace.

yeh. the losi servo saver fits the HS55 only. I can sell you one if you like, with the saver, for $20. Mind you the HS55 doesnt centre well with my radio gear, dont know what radio gear you will be using, mine is JR.

I'm now using an 81MG with the servo horn that came in the pack, slightly modified :)

I got the servo saver with my Mini-T Pro, and I cant use it with my HS-81 because it does only fit with the stock servo saver, or other feather servos such as the HS-55.

If you have a metal gear servo, you shouldnt need a servo saver.

i find that if my front wheels take a big enough hit, the steering ball joint pops off well before my servo strips.

The 55 and 56 will fix without modifcation to the chassis.

I suggest the 56 if you don't want to modify anything. Its the faster out of the two and has a stronger gear train. The Hitec Servo saver (losi part) you quoted will fit on both. :)

If you want to get into the modifcation bug like most of us have, there is the 81 and 85. The 81 is nice and fast. There is a servo saver available for them - the RS4 Micro Saver will fit both the 81 and 85. You can pick them up for around $8 from the local hobby shops however I brought mine from Hong Kong. A $8 servo saver is cheaper than a $40 - $50 servo so I recommend a saver (Unlike these guys that have money trees) :)
