Gday all.. can any1 tell me what engines would bolt straight in to my tmaxx as a straight replacement for the trx2.5.
No changing exausts,shafts etc..
Ide say an 18 max size as im not keen on replacing stripped clutchs, gears etc with the mass gain in power of big block.
Thanks in advance

Epic .18 is good in a T-Maxx, as is the OS CV-R .18. The CV-R .18 is under rated in its power, and apparently its an absolute beast in trucks and on road cars alike.
Also look at the medium block Trinity engines, such as the .21s which will fit in the space of a .12 but has the height of a .21.
If you really want to give your T-Maxx a kick in the pants, get a big block motor mounting kit and fit an OS VZ-B V-Spec. This is a 3HP beast (again, its factory specs are very under rated), but you'll have to use a starter box.
If nitros for the boys and electrics for the kiddies, then big blocks must be for MEN :p. As long as everything is secure and in place, I agree with balistc, go the 21's. The difference in performance is huge over the stock .15 displacement as well the smile on your face once you bolt a big block in !amazed Though I don't think a starter box will work on a tmaxx if a v-spec is bolted in. I could be wrong. My 2c
Balistc, I'd love to see your SS go with your .28. Have you tested how fast it goes ?!

Dlux, you can get T-Maxx starter boxes...and I'm pretty sure a .21 will allow the flywheel to protrude through the chassis slot...as long as the engine mounts are the right height!
Yeah I've tried the .28 out a couple of times, nothing major cos its just been run in and is still running rich, but I stripped 4 spur gears. I managed to get the mesh perfect now, after a lot of swearing and cursing and it seems to be just fine ;)
Its ridiculous...let me tell u.
What hop ups u got on your Sav? I tried not to hop it too much like I do with the rest of my cars, I only replace what breaks or is a weak point, with hop ups.
You also have the same cars as me...Savage, and a Mamba 8k Mini T!!
Check our some pics that I've got

I'm keen on getting the SH beast but when I'm racing, the mach does me fine for now. Though I always change my mind quickly and go for the plunge. I've been concentrating a bit on the MF2 trying to understand how every little thing works.
