Hey blokes , dont know if any of you have been following the Formula 1 saga but its official today that Ferrari , Mclaren Mercedes , Toyota , Renault , BMW , Red bull , torro rosso and Brawn Racing have pulled out of the Formula 1 due to Eccleston and Mosleys 90% cut in the manufacturers spending allowance .

This withdrawal has taken a caclulated $2.2 BILLION from Ecclestons hands in terms of sponsorship etc which means un less he funds it from his pocket , F1 is finished .

They have signed up some no name teams and 2 respected named teams ( Brabham and Lola coincedenty Ecclestons team and Mosleys team )

These 8 teams that have pulled out of F1 for good now are working on another league of racing they claim will be the pinnacle of motor sport and allow them to technically advance themselves in the direction they were going before caps , restrictions etc .

What are peoples thoughts .

Im actually wrapped this has happened because the FIA was totally starting to rape the sport in being control freaks and getting their noses into too many peoples business . Formula 1 was becoming boring with all its politics and what pissed me off the most was when your watch the race , see who won but a week later the points would be deducted , added because of bullshit .

this is carp I love F1 then need to lift restrictions and let the teams back in. no one will want to see F1 now the sport is dead after this year but this new motor sport you speak of sounds very cool but it must totally replace F1 in every way shape and form!!!

This is exactly what was needed and to be honest when i heard of the breakaway threat a few weeks ago i was praying for it .

You watch the advances of the cars now .

Ohh and by the way , do you think people are going to want to go with pissy little budgeted teams or go up with the big boys like Ferrari , BMW , Mercedes .

F1s dead mate and im wrapped those 2 old farts Eccleston and Mosley copped it in the ass sideways with no Vass

"This series will have transparent governance, one set of regulations, encourage more entrants and listen to the wishes of the fans, including offering lower prices for spectators worldwide, partners and other important stakeholders,” the statement continued.

"The major drivers, stars, brands, sponsors, promoters and companies historically associated with the highest level of motorsport will all feature in this new series."

it will still be f1, just not with that idiot eccleston running the show.

mind you it could end up just being a conga line with the same ppl at the front all the time.
i used to think nascar was a pile of crap, but with a massive number of lead changes and allot of races coming down to the last lap its pretty good to watch.
one thing i like is the way the yanks screw with starting grid, cart racing has a great way of qualifying. multiple short sessions and only the top of each session go thru so it shakes it up as a top team can screw up and go back to the end of the grid.
and some of the nascar races include a pitstop in the qualifying, so the whole team have to qualify.

v8 and f1 have just become a snore fest, same ppl on pole, same ppl on the podium.

I'm looking forward to the new F1, however I think the politics will continue. Just imagine the 8 different teams all wanting the rules the way they want them, it will get real political really quickly.

The other interesting thing is a similar thing happened in the early 80s between FISA (subcommitee of FIA) and FOCA (Formula One Constructors Association). And who were two of the leaders of the FOCA revolt against FISA, none other that Mr Mosley and Mr Ecclestone!

Anyway what ever happens, I'm really glad I went to Monaco this year for the grand prix. It will possibly be the last year for a while, that we will see Ferrari, McLaren etc at Monaco.

Yeah it was amazing. This is the view I had for the race, the chicane is the first chicane around the swimming pool looking out over the harbour.

Ecclestone and CVC Capital have the most to lose
with a breakaway series
A day after eight teams announced that they would not compete in the FIA Formula One World Championship next season but form their own independent series, commercial rights CEO Bernie Ecclestone has now said that major teams should not be subject to a budget cap next year.

While saying that Max Mosley has done ‘a lot of good things’ for Formula One, the F1 Chief Executive's new admission undermines the FIA President's position but could potentially end the breakaway threat. Ecclestone however has no power to dictate the rules to the FIA.

"I say, provided they confirm they will be in the championship for five years, they can spend what they like," the 78-year-old said at Silverstone on Saturday.

Ecclestone did not say how dropping the budget cap provisions would affect the small teams that have signed up for 2010, including new entrants Campos, US F1 and Manor. But clearly the Briton is most concerned about the big names including Ferrari and McLaren, who are looking to establish a rival series.

"I have some sympathy for the teams. Nobody wants to be told how they can spend their money," Ecclestone told the BBC.

The international media overnight reacted with concern that the crisis could irreparably damage or even destroy F1.

"It's an ugly fight, like an aristocratic family arguing about silver cutlery," said Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The French daily </I>Aujourd'hui</I> added: "War has broken out between the FIA and FOTA, and Formula One will pay for it."

And Austria's Der Standard said: "So far neither Max Mosley nor Luca di Montezemolo have lost face, but the loss will be on both sides if Formula One disintegrates."
