There was good news and bad news for RC racers at Carine today. The good news was for those that came as it was a fantastic day's racing. The bad news was for those that didn't show as they missed out!
The track was grippy, firm and only slightly damp in a couple of patches - which was easily sorted out with some carpet.
We ran 4WD (with 1/10 and 1/8th) Truck (CORR and mod) and Monster Truck classes with hotdogs for lunch.
I'd like to thank all the people that came to race and all the positive vibes and help they gave freely. It certainly motivates us to keep the club active.
We'd like to do it again regularly and are aiming to run again next Sunday.
The message is, don't be put off by the rain, the track was fine despite heavy showers overnight.

Some great action shots - shows how close Volker and myself were getting to each other in the 1/8 buggies. Looks like we were nearly mating in mid-air!
Can also see my right front tyre peeling off the rim!
Finished editing them all. I will post some more later today ( I was going to say tomorrow until I saw what time it was :( )
Anyway I have to do some real work later so I will squeeze them in during the day.
good night.
Perth time is 1.30 am, what time is shown on the thread?

i'm going to attempt to crack the 1/8 buggy out. don't think it will have the speed of the ones running on the weekend, but it's the only runner i can race at the moment.

The 1/8th buggy is the killer-app at Carine (and elsewhere if it was allowed). They're light, nimble, fast and tough. Which means heaps of fun with less downtime. I hit the steel pole more than once off the vert and came away with one broken part which took a couple of minutes to fix. We'd really like to get a 1/8th buggy class as a regular fixture at Carine including a demo class at interclubs.
I'll have a Losi 8B up and running shortly.
Hi Guys and Girls
Here are a few more shots from Carine, this time the pit areas and our newest member Celeste. Oh and our event organisers making some track adjustments.

The weather is looking foul for this weekend but we may see a miraculous break in the rain Sunday morning so keep an eye out here for updates. As we found last Sunday, as long as it doesn't rain during the day we will be fine for racing. Check the beginning of the post for link to online entries for the event.
