So Futaba have made a cheap $130 2 channel radio into a 2.4ghz radio with know changes to the software or features that's now going to cost $260.

Instead of the receivers being $35 - 40 they are now going to cost $140, if you can get them at all but at least you'll be able to buy the 3 or 4 channel 603 or 604 versions and they only cost 175 or 200 bucks. It use to cost 7 or 8 bucks to break the antenna now it'll cost $20.

Some good forward thinking there Futaba!

The receiver listed is not the one included in the setup. The new rx is 603gf so not sure about price and the features are more than enough for the club racer, basher guy's. Going on previous purchases from twr it shouldn't be any more than 140us or 180oz fifty bucks more than a crappy 27mgh setup so can't really see your beef unless you race in the worlds

My beef is that Futaba's prices suck, the 4PK sells for 150 bucks more than its closest competitor here in Australia, the 3PM sells for about 75 bucks more than its nearest competitor, the 603's sell for around $170 - $200(aud), the 604's for $200 - $245.

If we see them here for less than the price of the receivers on there own it will be a bloody miracle but your argument is not in support for your local hobby shop....

I wonder why mate? I got sc10 last week in perth though so when its reasonable price and i want or need it i will buy it. No lhs has a good range of parts for any of the vehicles i have and they say we can get the parts in for you, but at two or sometimes three times the price and they never show. There was a time when i would rely on lhs not so long ago (12months) but your phone bill goes thru the roof and you still don't get anything except story after story and grief, you would think you were trying to get NASA parts the way they gin about, not losi, associated, traxxas and duratrax. Like i said i can get one sent here next month for 180oz so like everything else lately i will not be purchasing local unless lhs's take there head out of the clouds, and usually mate the people who work at lhs know there prices suk compared to other non local shops, thats just business in perth as usual.

Got my 2pl last week with 2 rx for 245oz landed here seems good tx has no arial at all an rx arial is an inch or so longer than i thought but it's about 3to4 inches long. The tx has cpl new features over it's little bro, it has adj fail safe and only requires 4aa's(like some of it's competition)but has under half the draw as it's little bro. Yep sure it does look like a normal 2pl but $110us with 1rx and extra rx only$65us it puts the safety of 2.4 in budget racers hands at a more than reasonable price ,all be it us bucks so far,i dunno about oz pricing but if it's like brushless system prices in oz versus us it will prob be three times that.

Will it bind with the 603ff or the 603fs as well? .. 2pl is a great radio, I have the FM version and use it on my basher stuff .. but yeah as Richard said prices for Futaba radios and recievers are fenominal .. last 2.4 reciever I bought local was $180.00 .. but now since I have 4 or 5 recievers and the 3pm its not worth it for me to change over now

Nah it's fhss system not fast only compatible with 603gf. Ouch man i would get em o/s about 90us. How much are the competitors rx in oz? They are about the same o/s in us dollars must just be more incentives or summin from other non futaba brands.Lets face it anything over $50buks is a bit of coin for a rx really i wouldn't have 2.4 system if it wasn't for futaba simply because of cost, you can buy competition grade kits for what sum people spend on there radio.
