I went to ryper today and caught up with Craig (cray on here).. also spoke to Perry and Dave.

It seems the indoor track is NOT going to be made bigger. they do not plan to increase it's size, and are going to race Mini-T on the outdoor track with the main straight closed off (most likely).. to make it the ideal size.

While this cool, the bad news is, when there's rain, there's no mini-T racing.

plans to build an indoor ON-road 1/18th track are still going ahead.

ryper are importing these kits:
http://www.brpracing.com/18scale.html

BRP 1/18th on-road pan cars.. these things are ultra simple, and apparently ultra fast. They plan to mainly race these. Cost i think was $90 for basic motor, $120 for the bombed model. (dont know the full details)

bogus about the indoor off-road track. I think a previous lack of demand for the track has paved it's future. Perhaps enough of us can protest or something! hahaha

justo, you have an x-ray M18, your set for indoor racing hahaha.

i guess we'll have to hassle the crap out of ryper to get the indoor mini-t track cranking!!. the old track will remain there as far as I know..

good to meet ya James...its Michael btw, not craig...but i can see how u'd make that mistake, no biggy.

shame about the offroad indoor. i had a short go on it. its freakin TINY. car felt weird and wasnt turning right. but even so i had trouble making it around ANY of the corners and my car isnt even fast. its really kinda pointless at ots current size. either rip it up and make it bigger or get rid of it all together. bit of a shame really. but i can see how a place like that could turn into a money pit.

the outdoor track however IS a nice size and i cant wait to have a go on it when the weather clears up. apart from that...onroad racing this sunday with ma new sports tune...w00t!

so whos still on for sat morning 11am???

I'll be keen for sure...my Mini-T HAMMERS with the foam tyres on it and the Mamba 8k....I reckon it would give my old Kyosho V-One RR EVO a run for its money ;)

nah... think about it. we all start rocking up at ryper with our worked 'T's setup for offroad... give ryper the message that we're serious about racing. get that track made bigger !!!

thoughts?

despite the track being small. I still had fun on it with my mamba mini-t... no problem. mostly 1/4 or 1/2 throttle, but still loads of fun. After running on it for the first batt pack, I decided to sweep the entire track, which took me 30 mins or so, after that, traction was awesome, I had full thrott going on the straight, and got enough air off two of the jumps to land outside the course :)

it's still fun, and I'll still race on it when the mini-T season starts... :)

You can always race on and off road. Im going to get my T set up for on road this week.

I MIGHT buy one of the new BRP 1/18 on road kit's for the 1/18th on-road season... -maybe-, undecided at the mo :)

those BRP kits r damn ugly...id be more inclined to go with the onroad mini-t idea. kingbobs 18t with touring foams looks awesome.

hows ur diff james? my t's in pieces atm as i try and sort out my stock diff problems. and i blew the stock motor on saturday after u guys left. so it aint goin anywhere till the beast arrives.

i want very much to get into the on road with the mini-t

off road indoor 1/18th may still be fun for some mini giant racing :P

either way im up for it and i hope they have some fast hop ups available for the brp cars...
