Ok, this is really pissing me off. I just bought a brand new GM SX3R esc. Installed it nicely. Did the initial setup. Worked perfectly.

Next time I turn it on however, I get no response at all from it. Steering works, but no throttle. The LED that nornally turns on at neutral and full throttle or full brake, stays lit.

I tested it with a different motor and it didn't work. I tried different batteries and had same results. My radio (JR XR3) works perfectly with other cars.

Any ideas on what else I can try? I've returned an esc once before and it was a nightmare so any other solution would be preferable.

You just set it up again. Actually, none of my esc's have a reset button.

I've not known ESC's to have reset buttons...

The GM SX3R looks like a wicked ESC, I looked at one last friday as I'm considering 1/18th on-road.. how small is the unit!! it's wicked...

ring the hobby shop, ask them what they think. You shouldnt have problems returning it...

I've returned one esc before and it wasn't pleasant at all.

Juls is pretty cool though, so hopefully he'll help me out as much as possible when I show him on wednesday. Unfortunately I've already cut wires so I doubt I'll be able to swap it directly.

Other than that, it is VERY small and has nice thick gauge wire. The initial one-button setup is nice (no need for pointy tools just use your finger), but the in depth setup for the special functions seems very complicated at first sight.

If I get stuck with a replacement, stay tuned. I'm toying with the idea of getting out of micros altogether.....

I know. Stupid timing. Just ordered a Beast motor then just bought this esc PLUS a new battery....I gotta be crazy!

hahaha. Considered it. But no, I want a big ass truck i think. I've wanted one for years now but could never justify the $$$ for one car. Now that I have a few smaller cars with a bit of bargaining power I feel much better about it.
