last night I was doing some r/c tuning, in preparation for the interclub that's coming up..

got the new mod motor in my losi truck, was bedding in brushes, tuning suspension and slipper out the front of my house... at first only a bit of throttle... etc. after i got the slipper setup right, I thought, time for some full throttle action.. holy cow did this thing MOVE! so there's me enjoying watching the tyres balloon up when on the throttle...

until I hit the lightpost out the front of my house, head on, right in the centre of the truck.. it pushed the hinge front end in, snapped the swining front deck into 5 bits.

now just try getting this part, for an 11 year old r/c truck.

straight onto the Horn to PHC, Rob says he has a box of XX-T stuff that I can look through... although doesnt think he has the part I need...

still cool that they have some old school parts around! you guys weren't wrong when you said they stock lots of losi gear! :)

hoping I can get this thing fixed by this weekend (interclub), otherwise I'm gonna have to custom make one or something. somehow... I do wanna buy a new truck, but I'm not financially ready after speaning over a grand in the last few weeks on r/c already...

If you know someone with a Losi XX-T, that could maybe even just LEND me the part i need, for a race meet, that'd rock. Or perhaps someone that wants to sell their old XX-T... hrmmm

Sorry to rub salt in but let this be a lesson to everyone, not to drive r/c cars on the street.
I know this didn't happen in this case but it is something i see happen all to often. Done it myself and learned from my mistake.

That being said, good luck with finding the part you need. I was offered a lot of rc parts a while ago that included a lot of old losi stuff. I have sent him an email, i'll let you know

well some good news and some bad news...

good news is, I went into Perth Hobby Centre, and the lads helped me out bigtime with a BOX full of the older losi stuff!

bad news is the box didnt have a replacement for my broken part...

good news again, is, I stocked up major on spares!!
Graphite front and rear arms (my xx-t isnt graphite)
Graphite front/rear shock towers
bulkheads, pivot blocks, shock bushes.. damn what else, a set of original wheels (with caps!), an extra set of wheel caps, ally top shaft, new hinge pins, new steering kit, slipper plate, idler gears, chassis screws, battery hold down strap, etc, etc, etc... LOADS

so I'm gonna fully strip the XX-T and load it up with the graphite stuff, keep my old stuff as spares.. :)

She'll be as good as new before I know it! (cept the broken part i need to still find)

I totalled the cost of all the stuff I got, it comes to over $270! I'll tell ya now I paid a shite load less than that for it all... infact Rob just said "make an offer"!

Anyway, if you need losi stuff (or anything really) PHC has shite loads of STOCK ! There's heaps of XX, XX4 and even older there too...

mmmmm rebuild coming up!
