If you put a Baja body on it it's not really a corr truck, If your keen on getting some track time you can race your car in the beginers class novice..

A standard truck out of the box complies to tho's rules other than the motor.

Baja bettle body must meet the body spec requirements and i doubt it will as its not going to cover the wheels for one.

It is a fun class now that the rules are in place.

The issue is if they let one person run a Buggy body and 1/8 tyres where does it end? Personally I think the rules in place are sensible and easy enough to follow. I mean, if you want to run 1/8 wheels, buy a 1/8 car, if you want to drive a VW Bug rc, buy an M04 Tamiya.

LOL > nexxus

so it looks like i might have to swap the beetle for a hardcore?
and the wheels for some proline epic beadlooks?
and the tyres for some switch or goosebumps?

for non points nights 1/8 tires would be ok. i intend to run 1/8 rears and i know others who have them as well.
they offer no advantage, my laps times prove that i'm over a second a lap faster using bowtire sc tires, and it will save you destroying soft compound tires needlessly.
for points nights i just swap over.
my 1/8 rears have been getting abused on tarmac with 3s over xmas and still show almost no wear.

Rules have been put in place too keep it uniform across the board for everyone, its not in the spirit of rc too pick and choose which rules you abide by be it points night or not, we dont have 4wd guys running rears on the front do we..

1 Piece 1/8 pre-mounts are 34gms (approx.) heavier than 1/10 Short Course wheels/tyres but 30 gms lighter than 1/10 Short Course Bead Lock wheels with tyres.

So the only major benifit for running 1/8 wheels/tyres, is less sidewall flex, the larger diameter, slightly more tread on the track and better choice of rubber.

Most 1/8 foams are stiffer than 1/10 foams. Having said that I was running Hong Nor soft 1/8 buggy foams until a couple of days ago when my Proline V3 foams came in.

In general I dont have a problem with people running what ever motor and wheels/tyres they want in the CORR class. I also love the looks of the Bug body but in the real world it is a open wheel body and your going to get into trouble when you try to bump and rub with those running full bodied SC Trucks.

As the famous quote goes, "Run What You Brung, As Long As It's Not Your Mouth."

Simple thing guys . Many of the cars that run in this class are by newer drivers and most of the cars are straight out of the box with no mods. The over welming majoritory of people running this class like the scale looks of the car and wish to keep it so they stated they wish to keep scale looking rims and tyres. Part of keeping it all fun for the drivers is to ensure a level playing field for all where the drivers all know what is expexted of their vehicles. This way the members are not constantly having to fork out money for mods that may or may not be legal or may or may not make them more competitve . Part of the fun in this class is the relaxing of the contact rules a little to allow some rubbing as these cars are known for. You can take my word for it when I say running a club with a hundred + members can be a head ache. Exactly as Obzolete stated as soon as some body does something different I hear about it. There may be an advantage with certain mods there may not be , the mods may only work under certain conditions myself and the rest of the comittee cant instantly judge every mod we see and make a ruling on the spot that will keep every one happy.Last year was the first time we saw these cars hit the race track and there were no rules in place for them. The class is now santioned by the state governing body and there are now rules in place . We try to allow people to run what they own as much as possible but at the end of the day we are a race club and have to keep some uniformity amoungst cars racing in the same class. West Coast would ask all drivers where ever possible to voluntarily adhere the WOARMA rules set down for this class , if management of this class becomes an issue then the comittee would be forced to step in and tighten up what was being put on the track . It is hoped that every one would participate in the spirit of friendly competition and that this wont need to happen.

Personally I don't see the issue, if ppl dared run 1/8's at the state titles of Corr, ok then burn them at the stake or something, but for a std club night? Who gives a shit???

One minute the rules are great, and one minute the rules (well who gives a sh**)

It's only a few who are barking about it, as if there is a fkn sheep station on the line or something (same person who had a cry about Kwinana not giving a foolproof location and who has previously tried to out TA members as thieves for having the audacity to sell items second hand)

What is a fun hobby for some is obviously an obsession for others, and abiding by the "rules" in this case may quell the fire initially, but it may well be something else next week.

You have a real nerve nexxus, Your a troll straight up... watch your mouth, its twats like yourself that make life hard on the people like myself that work behind the scenes in the club on our own time and try to keep the peace, that why there are rules in the first place..

I've been approched by other members asking me to state the facts in this thread so i did...

RE: kwinana club, thread i was asking a valid question because there was no info at all to the location it was not a fool proof location debate. Its a club of which i planned on running on the 16th, no info or website listed.. (if my comments were not valid, can the mod delete all posts related to that discusion and deleted the thread with the web address aswell because it was a direct result of my question of which i was attacked back)

The rules have already been put in place and Im sure that everyone was happy with it so why are we going down this road again NEX you said 1 page back that the rules are good and now you carry one about sheep stations and what not I go to a club to race (and so does everyone else) and when I go I have to follow the rules of the class or its unfair for the next guy, if people allow different people to have this wheel and that wheel the competition is lost and you would not know if you are getting any better or more competative.
so yes its a club and its fun racing but at the end of the day people go there to race and be competative or try to be other wise they would not go

Thanks Nick
