I'm thinking of buying a Mamba Max Pro ESC. Has anyone used one of these recently? I've read everything I can find about them on here, but info seems pretty scarce and I'm not sure if the info is about the Pro version or the older Mamba Max.

I used one in a Slash at West Coast, worked well but not readily available (may be now) and the sensor timing modes caused the motors to run pretty hot.

I've been running one for a couple of months and like most of my castle esc's I love it.

The CHEAT mode is great, the last time I ran the Pro I had the timing on 40* on one of the hottest nights of the year so far and didnt have any major heat issues. I also had my truck geared two teeth higher than I normally do.

I've been having so much fun running it with the CHEAT function in sensored mode that I havent even tried running it in hybrid or senslorless modes.

As for the info available check out the Castle Creations thread or Mamba Max Pro thread on RCTech or the Castle Creations thread on RC Monster.

+1 Love them. I have 2 now and am quite happy to sell all my Novak and LRP speedies to replace them the MM pro. Heaps of really good features cheap as chips and very smooth what more could you want. I managed to set fire to an Orion 10.5 with mine yet the speedy was still cool to touch. Was my fault though I forgot I had set my motor up with 20 degrees static advance and then another 24 on the speedy. It was absolutely stupid fast though. The can is a little bit larger than some others but they are smaller over all as the capacitor is mounted inside so no fiddling around trying to figure out where and how to mount it. Also the fan can be removed in all but the most extreme set ups if space is tight .

Thank you all for your insight. I have been following the thread on RCTech as well. I have now pretty much made up my mind to go ahead with buying one of these.
