I just saw these tyres in person and really like them so was going to get a set for my revo. Just wondering how they hold up for bashing? They seem like they might not last that long...?

Not bad Justo...

I had my original set on the Savage with heaps of meat left on them, right up until I changed over to paddles, and they lasted real well because I only ever used them in the dirt

They seem to have lots of grip but they are quite soft, meaning I wouldnt go on the road too much with them...and they dont work too good in soft sand (thats what paddles are for, and you'd better be buying a set of those!! :))

you and your paddles.....sheesh....hahahaha

I don't suppose you know a good place to get the savage tyres/rims from? Looking online, I can't seem to find what I want (GT tyres/black rims).

They just demolished a building across the road from me so it's a huge play area now. Sand is pretty hard packed. Lots of ruts and bumps and stuff to climb over.

rchobbies dont seem to have any rims that I like, but they have tyres. goodstuffonline.com have the tyres cheaper but only 1 pair of rims :( And I just checked the RMS site and they don't seem to have either?

Completely forgot about the MRC guy though! Checked his listings, but doesn't look like he gets the black rims I want. Will email him though to confirm when I get closer to placing an order.

are the black rims your after called "pento's" or somethign like that?

5 spoke black or dark grey? careful with the savage rims, i needed to get adaptors for the road ones i borrowed off my mates savage.

LST i think is a straight fit. the revo standard rims with my traveller hex adaptors and they also fit LST rims.

i was offered a brand new revo on sunday but i think i really really want the FG MT :D

After racing monsters now for over 2 years there is only 1 type of tire for bashing the proline Mulcher or my second choice is the panther pins .proline have a 2 stage process where the top of the pin is made of a differant type of rubber for less wear.Where the panther comes with a better insert.Either way if you wont your tires to last the test of time buy yourself the trinity 2 stage race insert your tires will last twice as long. :)

Cheers Maxd out, I'll look into it.

Opasx, I'm trying to get the HPI GT5's(?) I think? Not my favorites, but I don't like the other HPI 8 spoke ones.

revos look great with the stadium truck tims on them :)

a guy called yanddy had one at whiteman park with em on it, looked very very pro. mind you he spent so much money on his revo with new engine and so many other hop ups it was insane all round :)

will those mulchers really last longer than, say the mashers?

Stock out of the box the panthers will last longer ,its not just the tire that wears the foam also losses its shape & becomes loose in the tire ,thats when the side wall of the tire flex's to much & you tear the tire. :)

that's interesting. The only problem for me however, is that I've heard some people have problems using Maxx size wheels on their revos. Apparantly the maxx rims are too small to clear the arms and the tire ends up rubbing...Pity they don't seem to do the mulchers in 40 or savage size, and I cant even find the panthers on tower.

Dont the maxx & the revo run the same rims ?? they have the same size hex dont they ? Same company.

yeah, same hex, but the revo rims have a larger diameter which compensates for the extended suspension travel and steering travel.

Some people dont seem to have the problem though. I'm not sure if I want to take that chance.

If I'm right Daz the internal diameter of the revo rims are around the same as a 40 series rim

Yup, that's where I've ordered my tyres from. $85 for a new set of 4 Savage wheels/tyres. I managed to try on my bro's Savage wheels and they worked fine. Need to gear down just a tad cos I couldn't pull wheelies.

Justo, the black rims I had were stock GT5s, but in black instead of chrome...they looked awesome with the paddles ;)

Yeah, I wanted black, but he didnt have any. Fckin americans and their obsession with chrome. Make them all black!
