Hi crew, those with lipo cell's, 2 or 3 cell, running in 1/18th, etc. could you pls provide some info one say:

how long it takes to charge your cell
how much run time do you get (with what setup)

and any other info..

I'm wanting to buy one or two 2cell pack's. Wondering how many races I could get off one cell. I've heard 20 to 30 mins out of a 2cell lipo with mamba... if thats the case, i could get pretty much an entire race meet out of once cell. Otherwise, I'll need to buy two cells.

the KAN 1050 pack's, while good, just dont have the grunt for "starting" mamba's. regardless of starting power/timing settings. I firmly believe this is half the reason justo took the mamba out of his mini-T a while back. no power. :)

thoughts before I buy...

taa.

They definitely have the power to start it, when it doesnt COG that is...the LiPo should fix this though ;)

I'm keen on some charging info too...so for those who know, fire away!!

hope that wasnt a pun "fire away".. man I've read some nasty sh1t about lipo fires... urgh.

heh. I just want 2cell, for lightness, and racing, i dont want long run times, you shouldnt run your mamba for too long anyway, gets hot! I saw b-p-p sell mamba heatsink's, coool

i ordered the mamba heatsink with my mamba 8000 when it eventually makes its round the world trip... via hot air balloon.

i also grabbed the USB link.

I have charged both of my lipo packs and they do get very very warm, but no where near as warm as they seemed to get under discharge.

when they are charging i have them sitting on a little plastic rack with a 6800rpm CPU fan under it to be safe.

the temp probe sits on the other side of the pack with bluetack used to keep it attached.

im not panicky at all, but i do have an fire extinguisher 5 feet from the charging set up in my study just in case (have always had one about since my very 1st pc overclocking fire 8 years ago :P )

you should never fan-cool batteries whilst charging.

set a temp cut on them. the supernova comp charger will stop charging when they get hot, then start again when they are cool enough (as far as i know)...

you should only fan-cool battery packs when discharging, and letting them sit. even then. it's probably best to just leave them be.
