It now looks like the Belmont track dedicated to EP 1/8th and CORR racing will be running very soon, and I am putting out feelers to see how many people have, and are keen to race, EP Monster trucks, and 1/8 CORR if there's any interest...
Now I dont mean truggies, they're a given, I mean real M/T's so Emaxx, Erevo, Savage Flux, and any EP conversion, fitting the MT rules.
Personally I think a proper M/T class would be heaps of fun, and am looking for EOI in a class.

So far we have 1/8 Buggy
1/8 Truggy
1/10 CORR, hopefully

Could I run the Hyper 10SC in 1/8 Corr, as really the size difference between that and an SC8e / Slayer is sweet FA

Dont see why not.
The 4x4 Slash as we know is at least 1/9th scale in reality, but I wasn't sure about the other 4x4's.

As far as I'm concerned if the 1/10 4x4's are happy to run with 1/8 I think thats good enough to allow them.

I'll sit down with Rob and try and get his Kiwi skull around these ideas.
He also wants to run fridays but I told him not to rub WCMR the wrong way.
I hope he will reconsider.

West Coast has banned 1/8E from there track
so they built a track for them
I can see how that can be rubbing them up the wrong way .
Friday nights will be best , as that is the only night the restaurant is open ,
You might like eating pies for dinner , but its just not my style .
Rob did say yesterday that they will run on sundays once whiteman park is under water .. Until the lights get erected

What I meant by rubbing them the wrong way is we are looking for a good turnout of CORR, and of course they run at WCMR, although I was one of 3 guys that started the craze over there, so we should be able to have them... lol

How many people have or intend to run 4x4 corr trucks? Would be great to get enough for a race.

Well so far with you that appears to be 6 if we lump 1/8 and 1/10 together, and I know there are more around.

Some reasonably definate numbers of 4x4 would be good so I can present the cause to Rob...

whats going on with belmont is it still going ahead?

Stephen R

Yeah its still going ahead and below is what Rob has posted up on the club website;

The application that the Belmont Sports Club put in for the track got cocked up and I never got to see it prior to submission and for now Friday night racing is out as they put Tuesday night in as the Formal Race Night with an 8:30pm finish (god knows why?) which obviously is no good.
We can however use the track every other day of the week from 9am to 7pm.

All this has been advertised to the local residents and the senior planner at the council wont budge.

I will be going to a council meeting next week and put forward in a process they have that the Formal Race meeting be changed to Saturday 3pm to 7pm for the six month period until we can do a new application for Friday nights. Off Sundays to Canning Vale is also an option for "informal" racing.

Let me know your thoughts if you prefer Saturday or Sunday? Morning or afternoon. A 4-5hr period should be enough as there will be very little setup time.

Because we only had 6 Cars at the noise test and the noise was right on the limit they will only let us race 6 cars per race for now also.

Sorry if this has put anyone out in anyway but this is the best that can be done at this stage and unless you are in complete control >naughty word inserted here< happens.

This was posted up last night after rob atteneded the council meeting;

I went to the council meeting tonight and the sports club president and I put some submissions in for the application.
1. Person gate on Robison Ave not to be locked like the council wanted to stop people parking on the street
and walking to the track and possibly annoying the neighbours.
We suggested there will be a strict ban on this with everyone being aware to park in the main parking area and there would be no warnings, just an instant refusal to race and possible ban altogether. Harsh but this would risk our existence there.
2. Tuesday night formal race night - asked for this to be Friday night and to 10pm and have 10 cars instead of the 6 they proposed per race.
3. Noise - from our noise tests we did we would instantly be over the noise limit after 7pm and one of the
councillors brought up that special noise permits are available for such events and the councillors that are on our side asked what limits and sound testing is done for the Bands/music that is at the club and the
Tennis club down the road so that was favourable.

Saturdays during the competition bowling session (Oct to April - 9am to 5pm) would also out for running Cars. ALl other days of the week would be available for practice 9am to 7pm.

All this goes to another council meeting next week plus I have to speak to the Senior Planner during the week to discuss options for a way forward ........

Why was the decision made to compete directly with Bayswater on Friday nights? (CORR trucks are quite popular on Friday nights)

There are very limited places to run electric cars around Perth and now there will be 2 facilities but on the same night - crazy.

Mash13

Yeah seems a bit off, I guess though a Friday night at a bowling club is quite busy at the bar/restaurant and it would be good to get the racing finished then knock the dust off with a few coldies

Yeh some people forget about carine running also. Doesn't seem to matter what day other clubs have racing on as only cpl of non carine members venture out for racing at carine on sunday's anyway. So if up and going there will be three clubs in the metro area as far as i'm aware and carine allows all electric vehicles to run including 1/8th

This track is primarily aimed at 1/8th electric... a class that is not allowed at west coast. The corr trucks are only a class that RRC members whom have nitro cars at the moment, thought were a cheap and fun entry into the electric racing scene.

Friday nights was chosen for a few reasons;
- It's the end of the week, and a nice relaxation for all the working people.
- Not many people have work the next day.. .where as tuesdays you'd have to go to work the next day... and race at PRECC on wed nights too, may be a little harsh.
- I htink theres also often entertainment (bands and such) on friday nights at the bowls club so that'll keep the family entertained while the racers race.
- Also one of the main reasons is Friday night the Bowling Club has cheap food and drinks. Friday nights would be a good way to bring the family down, have a bite and a drink, get some racing in, and go home. That helps the bowling club get some money, and helps the racers have a good family night out.
