Keeping this thread alive....here's my study. The plan is to hook that tv up to the PC eventually. Right now I only use it to watch BB uplate as I'm surfing. Also, I've got spare monitors coming out of my @ss so I want to put a 15" ontop of the shelf as a "media window". It'll be just for video clips and music.

Anyway, my PC setup:
- P4 2.4GHz
- 1GB DDR RAM
- 110GB HD space x)
- Radeon 9600XT
- Hercules Gametheatre
- Logitech speakers (LOUD !super), keyboard, mouse
- 512/128 ADSL :(
- Networked XBox (in the living room)

Looking to upgrade my hard drives, but can't justify it yet. All my downloads make it onto dvd-rs. 300+movies ;)

Justo, dont forget, one of the unit's in your complex has an open wireless network... me and the lads were full exploiting it the other night, rofl... 512k link I think..

you need to get yourself some flat panel monitors, they r hell cheap these days.

I need your 300+ movies.

infact, we need to setup a TA lan night. haha, how nerdy.

If I had wireless hardware and knew what I was doing I would fully exploit it :P

I am going to get LCD monitors, but rc stuff is kinda taking up all the cash at the moment. That and saving up for a new motorbike. Plus I keep getting monitors for free so might as well use them!

wireless is easy.

get a cheap ass usb adaptor, hang it out your window, then use netstumbler if it wont show up straigt away.

set it to adhoc and see if you can pick anything up instantly. even here in the country there are a surprising number of wireless networks in the town. and so very very easy to get into :)

working in IT for a living and having called computers a hobby for the last 9-10yrs i give the impression of a nerd. couldnt be further from the truth :P

i still like my comps and tinkering every now and then with code and hardware but the days of it being all consuming are gone.

i got RC now... i dont know which is nerdier :(
