Nice work. Let us know how it turns out. When I get the urge to go back to 1/18th, I'll be getting one of them.

How much was it?

Change your mind fast BB. Only a few days ago you was talking about getting out off 1/18 scale. So does this mean the mamba from the T is going into the RC18T :)

Yes a fresh set of under wear makes me change my mind quickly. I was looking for ways to get a E-Maxx quicker, but I can sort that out in another fortnight - Unless this computer swap I have up goes through.

The Mini-T is going on the shelf for abit. I'll be putting the stock stuff into the Mini-T with a Mild mod brushed motor. One of my mates will probably use it when I run the 18T (More people to race with). The goodies are going into the 18T.

I am looking forward to building it.

T4Trasher, I spoke to you about this, and I've spoken to James too..and I'm still not sure.

I'm starting to see a trend in people bailing (or wanting to bail) on their mini-ts.....;)

Go the RC18T!

Glad I ordered battery bars for the 2/3A cells when I got my last RCmart stuff.

Going to make a super pack. Hope the 18T transmission holds up or I might have to look into cromolly gear parts like Maxd Out did with the E-Maxx's

BB !amazed

(Balistc - 4WD is easier to drive than 2wd, you do the math)

AE do a bling-parts kit do they not? i believe it costs as much as the FT RC18T? or something? has all the ally in it? i think i saw it on the AE site.. hrmm dunno.

BB, good luck with the build, I hope it goes well. very interested to see how it all turn's out.

I'm guessing oobie doobie's gonna have the pleasure of racing the 'T' now? it will probably go better with a nice brushed motor in it on the race track! heh

BB = sucker for 1/18th. He'll have a minizilla soon too :P or an RC18MT or something haha

wild.

BB, dont forget pics of build, etc.

James

pfft you guys are bailing!.. and king, what makes the rc18 so much better than the mini-T, 4wd? hah.

Yup thought about a minizilla too. Might get one of them next fornight.

I just wanna try dual brushless. the RC18 seems the easiest chassis to try it in. Dual 8K on dual 2 cell lipo .... Unless I can get a custom controller made to run both motors

My mini-T has never ever, once, flipped with the mamba. I have it on "normal" or "low" timing... for racing. I've never even tried extreme..

set your slipper and diff so it doesnt flip so easy.

the only hard thing about 'T's is getting them to land big-air.

perhaps mine doesnt flip, coz the nimh cells cant provide enough 'starting power' to make it get up and boogy straight off the line.. hehe

you really need lipo for Mamba brushless, no question.

I reckon if you only hop-up or replace what breaks, you'll be fine. stock mini-t parts are so damn cheap hehe... like $8 for chassis, $6 for all arms (fr + rr) etc.

but I guess thats not what hopping up is all about eh? it's about blinging out ya ride.. hehe, wowing the masses... and having a $1k r/c MACHINE.

hehehe

Welcome to the dark side BB...

You were calling me a 4wd cop out only a couple of weeks ago :P

Before you run it with the mamba, I have some outdrive rings you'll want to stop the dogbones popping out.

James

me? i wasnt referring to me.

my mini-T =
Mamba 6800
HS81MG servo
Losi oil shocks
Losi FR, RR spring set
Losi DD slipper
Losi Ball Diff
Chrome RR with step pins on
JR RS310 x-tal'less reciever

today adding:
3Racing SSG chassis

on order:
front chrome wheels (no tires)
pack of spare body pins
pack of wheelnuts/pins
CVD set
Ti turnbuckles

also have ordered: motor spray, 2x deans m+f's, tribotech comm lube, new HS81 servo case for my mini-t + hitec servo gear grease..

next order is likely to be an AE FT RC10 B4.

so yeh, not as much spent on my 'T' as the other guys! hehehe

James

wish list = all the 3Racing SSG stuff.. + dynamite alloy arms/towers/bulkhead/steering.

but i'd need about $300 to do it. forget that.

The only real reason I'm off loading my Mini-T is cos i want to use my 1/18 on and off road, and RC18T lends itself perfectly to this..

Apart from that, I LOVE my Mini-T and it'll be sad to see it go, seeing as its hardly used and near new!!!

Bowling Ball

Well its built.

Few problems. The ball cups are all that tight the suspension its not free (I heard ppl hate the shocks, but the shocks seem good.) Mounting everything can be a hassle - Had to use the top strengthener to mount both the receiver and the speedie. The 81MG is a bastard to get right (even with a RS4 Servo Saver. The diffs really need to be tight to stop the buggers from sliping !rant

On the plus side there is no wheel binding like in the Mini-T. Steering seems really positive - better than the stock Mini-T steering.

Going to get myself another servo (Possibly a HS56) and sort out the binding and the diffs later on today.

BB !yikes

If anyone wants an RC18T FT, let me know...Tower Hobbies dont cancel orders once you've placed them, so I'm now stuck with this since I decided its not WORTH selling my Mini-T.

Upon request from matt.
For my rc18t I ordered the thunder tiger c1016 servo from rcmart for $17us + shipping. I believe this is the same as the stock servo in the RTR kit, and gives 1.4kg/cm or 1.6kg/cm depending on which set of info you read. hehe. I think this will be good enough, direct drop in and will fit the servo saver so no mods there. The stock servo saver plastic ring isn't very strong so after a few runs it plastically deforms out of shape giving less centering power. Fix this by supergluing half of it to the shaft, or replace it with a rubber band used for braces or something similar.
