bunning has a good range, if your after cheap stuff to destroy on the street find the black retic pipe, it wears quicker but the white pvc pipe is really crap as it just offers no grip at all and you really at least a bit.

Get blue line or yellow line poly pipe from a place like total Eden or similar .. Blue line stuff isn't to bad it'll cost about $8 a metro and is the best I've played with and was impressed ..but I still prefer tdrifts
Yelow line is more expressive and harder to get hold of I've been told but it's a bit better than blue line so vie been told

Yeah i used the white PVC from bunnings to and yeah it hasnt got much grip at all. But the black retic piping (normally called "Polly") would have more grip because it is a softer plastic. But will still drift heaps for a fraction of the cost of the proper drift rims and tires.

is there any advantage with these pvc pipe tyres or is it just the cheaper option?

Its a old cheap option.. Its not good, has allot less grip than commercially available tires and just not worth the hassles... it was done back in the day because there was no tires of such being made..
I haven't seen anyone running them in years.
Abs vs tdrift? Which one better?

I've used all three pipes, the PVC, abs, and poly pipe I find the populous the best because it allows some grip.
