Hey guru's.
I bought a New Spektrum DX3S for the new Baja SS. The 3300T went into the SS. No issues there. I also had 2x 3300 (non telemetry) receivers which i put into the E-Maxx and the Evader ST/ But cars work for a couple minutes, then they litterally start quivvering? I tried re-calibrating the ESC's, re-binding the receivers... I'm out of ideas.
Help?

No ideas but I'd be wary of the Spektrum in a Baja. A lot of guys have had problems with the Spektrum gear getting interference from the ignition coil which is why many Baja ppl run Futaba 2.4ghz

+1 my baja went awol with spekky gear in it. Hope your running a killswitch.
I had exactly the same problem with a spekky unit, I took it back and got it replaced. It got sent back to horizon who said nothing was wrong with it and was returned to store. Next week that same unit was returned by another customer having the same issues. That was a DX3S also.
My Dx3S I have now (updated version that can run marine telemetry) has not missed a beat
A good basher Baja radio is the Sanwa/Airtronics MX-3 FHSS, you can get them cheap also :D

I run Spektrum in my Baja through a 3PK and it has never missed a beat. I have heard of several guys running early versions of the DX3s having problems in Baja's and that later models were better. One quick thought for the shuddering issue, were you running digital servos they can sometimes draw more power than the ESC can supply them draining valueable power away from and Spectrum receivers which require a good power feed. They may be alright for a few minutes untill the ESC heats up. Have you tested the Receivers with different ESC's and servos . Have you tested with an external battery back?

i had problem with a runaway baja and a spectrum rx, they don tlike low voltage for sure.
i have a couple of flightpowers that i cant run in any car with a spectrum, full throttle and the rx just dies then i have to wait till it re-arms to get control

Hey guys. Thanks for the input.
Unfortunately lady fortune has not been kind to me so i am unable to purchase a new Tx/Rx kit. Is there anything i can do to the receivers to make them more reliable?
Dazz, The Emaxx is unchanged, aside from the change in receiver. I'm unsure if its digital or not. The Duratraxx Evader ST has been outfitted with a HobbyWing Ezrun 8.5T Combo. I have switched the receivers out with the old ones and the cars are reliable again. It cant surely be the receivers as they're fresh out of the box and havent left the room yet.

Umm think simple first IMO... how tight are the plugs from the ESC and Servo that go into the RX ? if they are loose they'll be on off on off.. pop the pins out and give them a little squeeze and put them back in.. ive seen it happen many a time, its the last thing people look at.

I'm using the same batteries i've always used, LRP NiMH 4000 7.2v stick pack. The EMaxx uses 2x Venom NiMH 5000 8.4v. I have a decent Venom programmable charger so i can safely assume its not the batteries.
I'll clean the whole thing properly and give a good look at the connectors and make sure the basics are taken care of.

seriously dude what your saying is what happened to my first dx3s. Theres like a spektrum troll that hides inside the radio and plays funny buggers with your cars. Id take the unit back. It took me 3 times of sending it back with a nasty letter and I got a new one.
Seriously though it sent my Nitro buggy flying over the hwy full of cars and I sent it back and Horizon said "Range tested to 500ft no problems" then I banged it all back in the buggy and it did EXACTLY THE SAME THING. Pity it wrecked my buggy. I sent horizon a nasty letter, the TX/RX's and a bill for my buggy I got a new radio in return ?
